It's Quiet the £250m return

I'd imagine player contracts also have CL related bonuses included in them i.e. being named in the squad, appearances, goals, clean sheets etc. So being left out would hit them in the pocket, obviously up to the club to decide who is in/out but no player is giving that up willingly.
Apart from this January we have never had different PL and CL squads, don’t really expect us to start now.Besides when Pep said he doesn’t like leaving players at home or sat in the stand I assume he applies that to CL too.

Liverpool didn't have a midfield of uncs, Madrid have forwards who can actually score, and Barca and Arsenal good enough despite who they have at right back who are better than who we have now.

We have Mattheus Nunes and Rico Lewis.
If you use last season as a barometer yes, except using last season is stupid when we have the last 9 years to see what we are capable of.

I think Rico will be done tbh. Akanji will play there.
Agree with this. Akanji and a new decent right back.
I noted that Nunes was listed on the OS CWC travelling squad as a midfielder. Pep has already said that he can’t play there, I think that signals his exit. It’s almost certain if we do land a competent rb.

Only because he’s listed as a midfielder on the web site squad as thats where he started the season, doesn’t mean he can’t stay as a full back even if we buy another right back or play the CWC as a full back which he will. What the City media team put out signals nothing at all, they will have no idea the squad plans or Peps plans.

So you’re saying that we’ve not improved our ‘midfield of uncs’ (whatever that means) and we’ve got no forward players who can score goals, despite us being second top scorers in the PL, last season?
In which case, with the best will in the world, Tino Livermento won’t sort that out.

You’re right..
I am basing what is only a uniformed guess, on what may be an indication of Pep’s thoughts. Also, that Pep publicly said he can’t play in midfield but could develop into a fullback (opinion is divided on how that worked out). A further indication is the club clearly are making efforts to sign a right back.

If the rumoured fee of £15M is accurate, he's worth more to us this season than we'd get for him. If he can motivate himself for one last year then a massive payday as a free agent, that makes more sense to me than us having to replace yet another major figure in the team this summer

Unless, of course, we believe that his replacement will only be available this summer, in which case we may act now. We could even do what Liverpool did and leave a younger goalkeeper on loan at their parent club until next season in order to lock someone down this summer

I think we've seen him be more injury prone and it might be the right time to get someone new.

I think Nunes is staying as he's arguably the most improved player on the team and he contributed 14 goal contributions in a season we were just shit all around.

His overlapping ability, crosses and knack for getting assists are huge advantages.. almost justifying his errors. I mean Cancelo found his way into the team even with his gaffes and he had 22 assists in 4 years total. Nunes has doubled that.

If anything I'd suggest Kovacic and Akanji are more likely to leave since we can easily cover their contributions with the younger players.

It’s clear that Nunes did improve. He was coming from a low starting point though. He cost over £50M and if he went, we would be very lucky to get half of that.
I can’t see Akanji going as he is able to play right across the back 4. Pep loves him, even starting him above Walker in the Champions League final 2 years ago.
I don’t have any information though, just speculating. You could be right…

Lucky to get £25m for Nunes? Why? Because you don’t like him or his £500k per week wages? Oh, he’s not on £500k per week so it must be because you don’t like him. I’ve got it.
Are you one of the pay £80m for Livramento and get rid of Lewis, Doku and Savinho brigade? You know, the one who slags every City player off who you don't like? Who isn't perfect?

Nunes is on 130k a week.. half of Cancelo's 275k a week while doubling his production!

Some cherry picked numbers in there. Nunes has 4 g/a from FB. Cancelo had 31.

Nope..

Straight from transfermarket

You can go check yourself..

1 goal PL
1 goal CL
2 goals Carabao Cup

4 goals

6 assists PL
3 assists CL
1 assist FA Cup

10 assists.

Add 4 goals and 10 assists.. makes 14 goal contributions!

How's that cherry picked??

Wages are never disclosed , they are guesswork at best.
My point is that I am sick to death of people who slag City players off all the time and yet all the players elsewhere that they like are the dogs danglies. Just because they don't like said players and yet we win trophies with those same players says that I trust our club rather than these wankers.

I’ll try to reply to you…
1. No, because he’s not that good in my opinion. I have no idea what he gets paid.
2. I rate Livramento but think £80M is too much to pay (just my opinion).
3. I never mentioned Lewis, Doku or Savinho.. I have no clue why you would mention them.
4. I don’t understand the rest of your post. Frankly im not bothered.
5. I was just giving an opinion and debating. You know, what a forum is for… Anyway, I’m off for dinner and then a few pints. Hope you have a nice evening.

Most of the attacks we conceded goals from last season started from the flanks. Not tracking the runners especially on the right. Tottenham an example took advantage of our right side running in behind. Palace the same. Blueprint to get at us last season was attack our fullbacks. So it would make sense why the club want to improve that area of the pitch. Nunes good attacking but has a brain fart or two defensively. Gvardiol the same on the left.

When teams broke our midfield they pass it out wide and get in behind for the cutback on the counter as our fullback couldn’t defend or track the runner consistently
Absolutely. At one stage every goal conceded was the same one. Infuriating
