However Israel not bending over this time. Don't make me laugh. The last 30 years you've been on the front foot constantly , bombing Beirut, Gaza, Syria, Tehran. Targeted assassinations too many to count.

You're the most aggressive country on earth by some distance.

Are you seriously worried about the US using a nuclear weapon ? They have used their hegemony to keep the world at relative peace ( not without incident) since the last world war.
The Iranians on the other hand are bent on destroying the state of Israel, have been trying to make a nuclear weapon and after 30 years there is Avery reason to believe they are now close to doing so. The IAEA have now reported that Iran is in breach of its non proliferation agreements . Israel have acted.
I would imagine the vast majority of us are " not alright" with Iran having nuclear weapons but do you propose to do about it ?, what other cause of action is there to stop them ?

I don't need to look up anything. I know Iran are a tyrannical regime, in much the same way I know Zionism is a tyrannical idealogy. You can't associate any rationality with holding nuclear weapons; they're designed to eradicate humanity. It is, by default, an irrational thing. Where's the rationality in ourselves holding them? Should Israel hold them? Given they're trying to eradicate entirely another state? Are those the trustworthy, responsible actions of a nuclear power?

Whether I think they should hold them is irrelevant: one nation developing them gives licence to every other nation on the planet to develop them. That's the inescapable reality. Blame Oppenheimer. And I revert to my original claim; Iran haven't dropped one precisely because of MAD.

It would take some very special and influential people on both sides to rise to top of each side politically to be able to work together and agree a solution that works for all. Without some **** killing them first.

I understand that this is such an emotive issue but moderating this and making decisions between emotional and outright genocidal is becoming difficult.

I'll ask for people to try and talk like you would in a pub but it's a losing battle. We should talk about this issue but we can't if people are calling each other serial killers and they're arguing back. There's just no way to function like this. Take a breath lads.

The UN has stated it. Various aid agencies have stated it. That Israel's behaviour constitutes war crimes.
The majority of countries in the world recognize the Palestinian state. The fact that the US and Britain don't is neither here nor there.
The West Bank has been illegally occupied since 1967 according to international law.

So the fact that quite s lot of posters realize that Israel is acting as a rogue state is not particularly controversial.

What is controversial is a small number of posters support Israel in it's task of ethnic cleansing. They use all sorts of unsubstantiated facts and blatant lies in this support.

Not nutters mate, just people who are very passionate about an issue where both sides think they're morally correct. All we can ask is that they try their best to talk as they would if they were in a pub with a guy they were mates with.

My old man many years taught me something in the local Working Men's Club. I was about 18 and this massive fat wanker in his 40s who thought he was Giant Haystacks was an aggressive gobshite giving it out. Long story short, we disagreed and as an 18 year old who obviously was Tyson, Mayweather and Gracie put together in my head then I squared up and the old man pulled me back and the memorable words. "Mate, he thinks he's right". Learned a lesson that day.

Mainly that my old man could gaslight me into not taking on unwinnable fights. But no, they think they're right. That's just the end of it now. Can't progress anywhere positive from it.

When I think I'm right, I'm a proper **** about it. Can't argue with me. Same idea here.

Tbh Damocles I wouldn't be having any mates who have come out with statements of the IDF are doing absolutely nothing wrong. Palestinians don't excist. All the Gaza Strip and West Bank belong to Israel. These posters need pulling up.
