The King's Birthday Honours

This honours shit.

I'll make it clear I don't want one would never except one.

Early this year in February me and another bloke pulled two people out of the harbour. One of the people was a big bloke and was hard working pulling him onto the pontoon. We saved their lives, they were freezing carried first aid til the ambulance arrived. Would have been nice if they had said thank you but haho !!

Now if I was fat, rag darts player I would get a gong.

Why award people for doing their job ? I wasn't doing my job just happen to be working when I heard the shouts for help lol

Personally I couldn't give a shit about the awards because in real life there are millions of people each day who do brilliantly jobs on poor wages.

The honours should be scrapped

7 darter? That’s a rare bird on the log end.
it is, was in a pub league match, I was 16 or 17 at the time so it's a few decades ago, first 6 perfect, last arrow missed by a fraction, went on to lose the game would you believe, couldn't hit the fucker to save my life :/

I've never seen a 7 darter and didn't see many on a London board either

Here we go an outdated family, trying to stay relevant by going to the dressing up box and handing out bauble bullshit to sycophants.

If beckham is worthy of any kind of award why not Lou Macari, one of the few scum who seems to have a good heart and soul.

Sooner this ridiculous day is in Room 101 the better, along with a so called royal family

Those who make this bizarre day are the armed services, they are the ones who provide the pageantry, precision and colour.

Usual least arrows on the log end was 10/11 for the season, never saw the magical 7, I’m sure it’s happened though. 8 darts is the minimum on the London board due to needing 2 doubles (I think).

I can/have played a lot of sports in my time, always been completely average at everything (golf now, 66 age, 21 handicap) but darts and swimming are my complete nemesis, absolutely useless at both. In contrast my Dad was a very good cricketer, footballer, Table Tennis player and Snooker player (late 90’s break, never got the ton). We did seem to have a lot of milk deliveries to our house though!!

Ah yes, 2 doubles it was. I've always played a sport of some kind throughout life, apart from a period of a few years in my 40's, decent at most, cricket, 5-a-side football, table tennis and archery, awful, absolutely shockingly bad at squash though :)

Just turned 60 and my thing these days is, for the third time, archery, whole new world though as I've transitioned to traditional bows, as suits my newly acquired FOC status :)

Not that I particularly care one way or another about the honours system, there's an awful lot of crap posted here about who chooses them and what theyre for, etc so I thought I just drop this here:-

The fat rag is a seriously good darts player, but an mbe after 12 months!! Wtf? the fuckin worlds gone mad

Because of him, thousands and thousands of kids are taking up the sport in youth clubs and dedicated darts academies and even in their own homes.

He’s inspired and continues to inspire a generation to focus on something they enjoy.

It doesn’t matter whether he got an MBE in 12 months or 12 years, the impact is the same.
