Thank You Kyle Walker

Fuck Walker. What is with the politeness? We paid a record fee for a right back to Spurs at the time. We brought him to the club and gave him everything he could have wished for. If it wasn’t for us, if it wasn’t for Pep, his career would have been meaningless, no one would be talking about Kyle Walker, no Europa League trophy is going to change that.

The least technical footballer on the team, we utilised his only talent in running back to help the team in big games. We then went even further to trust this man with the captains armband, and what did he do with aside disgracing us in the media. The same captains armband that was championed by Kompany, Silva, Ilkay before him. All professional role models, and what did he do other than make news for controversy and daft comments?

Lastly, in the clubs toughest season under Pep, when most teams would look to their captain for inspiration, his last act aside dogshit performances was to leave us in the middle of the season. Good riddance, he can enjoy and keep memories of what he won, but I’ll never have any respect for him as a player and as a person.
Perfectly put. My thoughts entirely. Fuck him.

He didn't suggest he would take one off us to give to them. He is saying, he would give away one of his PL medals to have been part of the Spurs squad that lifted a trophy. He also said "not my first PL but my second" before then saying actually no because that was the fourmidables!

People need to relax. All he meant was he would have liked to have been part of it. And that's fair enough! He didn't think that hard about it and neither should we.
That’s the problem with Kyle he never thinks. I used to think he was a dick but he was our dick, now he’s just a dick

Seem to recall his mocking us as a club and fanbase prior to him signing so never warmed to him, his pathetic antics in the home derby last season with his theatrics was the final straw, he was a good player for us but a complete dick off it.

Was decent for us, but once the pace started to go he was a liability on the pitch as well as off it

Should never have been our captain

I can't believe I'm reading comments referring to Kyle Walker as 'good' and 'decent' for City.

Kyle Walker was probably the best right back we've ever had at City. He's been an excellent servant for the club for years, and has earned and deserves far more respect from fans than some are saying on here.

Unfortunately, we’re in an age where many peoples opinions are based on nonsense written on social media. They’re like lemmings jumping over a cliff, no ability to think for themselves.
Thankfully we have our fair share of people on here that understand the game, form opinions on what they see on the pitch rather than what is spewed on social media, thus enabling informed opinions to be made.
Some will like what they’ve seen on the pitch with Kyle and some won’t.
That said, the trophy count doesn’t lie. He’s been a major part in the most successful period in our clubs history, whether you like him or not.
He’s also been one of the best, if not the best, right backs the Premier league has ever seen.
He’s amassed 96 caps for England.
Those statistics don’t lie.
Like him or loathe him. He’s been a tad more than decent, regardless of what has happened in his personal life.

Our best ever right back that Pep didn't trust in the big games? CL final. Villa at home final day. He was class for us - but best ever is OTT

Book > Walker

Firstly, I love Skip as a player, manager and ambassador for us. A true legend of the club.
But, and this is important when we are purely comparing like for like on the pitch.
Skip was an unbelievable signing for the club at 32 years of age and captained us to a league title, FA Cup, ECWC and league cup.
Kyle was signed for a huge fee at 27 and won 1 Champions league, 6 premier leagues, 4 league cups, 2 FA cups, 1 UEFA Super Cup and 1 FIFA Club World Cup.
Based purely on trophies, there is only one winner.
Based on reputation and legacy, there is only one winner.
Just highlights how hard it is to discern the importance of a player on a club.

Some absolute bellends on this thread. Best right back in the PL ever and best I’ve ever seen at city. WTF?

Tony Book says hello

The problem with the "he won x, y and z" argument is that David Silva won less than Walker with us. David Silva hasn't done the Treble and didn't win the CL with us.

David Silva has a statue outside our stadium and will be remembered forever amongst our fans. Walker hasn't and won't.

The fact we're only discussing Walker is because he's made a stupid comment says it all.

Great servant for us, let's move on.

You’re being very selective.
He was trusted in lots of big games. Real Madrid in a semi final is a huge game.
He played the FA Cup Final in the treble year and was carrying an injury into the final. (Maybe you forgot)
Your post reflects on someone that wasn’t necessarily watching at the time from close quarters or perhaps has chosen to jump on some negative social media nonsense.
His time with us as a player was a major success.
His position in the team became untenable when his major asset, speed, left him and he became a liability.
Pep trusted him wholeheartedly, hence 300+ games.
Don’t conflate your personal opinion of Kyle with reality.
Social media isn’t reality.
