With the Club World Cup on and Auckland City playing in the Oceania Champions league whilst other New Zealand Clubs playing in the Australian League and the Asian Champions League.

Then we have our own oddities in Britain in how the Welsh Irish English and Scottish systems work together

Any thoughts ? What would you change ? Does it matter ? Any other examples ?

Surely if other NZ clubs are playing in Australian and Asian leagues, it’s them playing in the wrong competitions, not Auckland?

Was thinking about this the other day.

Monaco - a country, also a football club - play in the French league despite being a country and not being in France.
Gibraltar - not a country, part of the UK - play in UEFA international competitions despite not being a country.

Andorra used to play, and still may, in Spain.

Derry City play in the Republic of Ireland

Rhyl and Colwyn Bay used to play in the Cheshire League

Merthyr Town (Tydfyl) still play in England

Gibraltar is not part of the UK, it is a British Overseas Territory
