Casey says there is a disproportionate number of Asian males involved (challenging previous statistics). She also says ethnicity of offenders wasn't recorded nearly enough.

What if the police only tended to record ethnicity if offenders weren't white?

More seriously, while it's not going to be scientific, shouldn't the names of those under suspicion give a clue as to ethnicity?

I venture to suggest the following without knowing what contribution each makes to the obsession:
1. Several high profile domestic terrorist attacks.
2. Sexual abuse gangs.
3. In contrast to a largely secular population, many Muslims are highly religious.
4.They tend to be brown; a fear of the stranger, racism.
5. A Muslim owned football club keeps winning everything.
6. Attitudes to women and their freedom, inheritance rights etc. Similarly other social attitudes to LGBT, Alcohol etc.
7. Massive wealth of Gulf Muslims.
8. Large numbers of would be immigrants coming across Europe from Syria, Iran, Iraq, Afghanistan etc etc.
It is worth remembering that not everybody is obsessed nor is it confined to native Brits: some British Sikhs and Hindus share some of the obsession. A serious study of the phenomenon might pay dividends.

But Cyril and Jimmy were white, so white people can be abusive as well, and church people, and white church people, and white TV presenters that go to church. And right wingers. Also you have to understand that some people are racist, I'm not kidding it's true I tell you. They exist.And racists shout very loudly when other races are also abusive.

Of course they are, but don’t think that’s the important thing to take away from what’s been uncovered. This isn’t a far right or far left issue, it’s about vulnerable girls being abused.

All the politically crap that’s come with it, has played a big part in this happening.
 
Vile opportunists. That's what all these grooming gangs are, regardless of race.

I don't believe any of the gangs specifically target white kids, but they target kids they think are attainable. Those may well be kids who are allowed out late, who are allowed to drink and take drugs, who can do what they want. There may well be more white girls like that than Asian, though I dont know that for certain.

The gangs also don't want to be stopped or caught. I expect they feel that by targeting girls outside of their own communities, there is less chance of word getting back to their own families about what they do.
