Anyone who criticised this performance is stupid. First game, just getting to know his teammates, tactics etc. Let him grow in his pace.
A disappointing debut. Not involved in the game and when he did get the ball he gave it away. I think he might do better playing on the right.Early doors - not impressive against Wydad (but hey, neither was Ballon D'or winner Rodri) .
Cherki will improve massively.
The only objection I'd lodge against Cherki at this point - is stop fucking showboating! On at least two occasions Cherki attempted a quick backwards no-look pass with the inside of his foot - needlessly. Such passes are much less accurate than a composed pass - and, IMO, bespeaks of an ego - I'm better than you! - watch this - which is bound to piss of Pep, his teammates, the opposition, and knowledgeable fans - all at once.

Rodri was mixed. Some sloppy passes but also some good passes and interceptions.
Seems too many weren't too impressed. In the heat of the moment, I wasn't either. Then i watched his highlights over and realized he actually did a lot well and created a fair lot.
I get it, his energy was a not below expectations for the Prem. But it is day 1 filks :)
Yes, there is lots to like in this clips vid ... I think its just the fact that Reijnders really stood out in the 1st half, that may have overshadowed him somewhat?he did some really nice things in those highlights. I have sky high hopes for this young lad. He is constantly looking to be positive and make something happen. He is a high risk player and will give the ball away more than most because of the progressive passes he tries. I'm sure we used to have a player of that description. Wonder how he got on.
