82 | Rico Lewis - 2025/26

People can have whatever opinions they want. It’s how they manage to sound like the largest douchebags possible when talking about our own players
Ah right, fair enough. Seems a good lad and is certainly making the most of his talent

The idea that he is picked as some kind of favour is absolutely bizarre. Do you really think that is what this club does?

No, but it wouldn’t surprise me if we stat padding him a little in order to get a nice juicy fee for him. 60+ senior appearances and loads of trophies must be worth a pretty penny now.

Lol

Just read that back to yourself

missed out the word ‘were’ but other than that, makes perfect sense to me. Wouldn’t surprise me at all if he left in the next couple of years.
Nice lad, committed, tidy footballer but way off our standard.

No matter what you make of him as a player, if you genuinely believe we'd "stat pad" an academy player by giving them a spot in the first team squad in order to sell them for a higher fee further down the line, then you've not been paying attention.

It's not the 90s anymore. How small-time do you think we are?

As small as his brain I think TOC.

Here i was thinking folks would be here raving about his movement and how he created that chance for Haaland ...

Even if not that, perhaps a discussion on whether he was done unfairly by the ref might have been understandable...

But no, its the same old claims recycled :(

Depressing!

Unless I’m missing something he seemed to redirect is boot in the direction of the player’s face and thus resulted in a red. Gets worse each time you see it.

That's what I thought, it looked like he redirected his boot.....

But I just watched the video in 0.25 speed and the boot changes direction on impact, not before, but it really looks like he changes direction of it before when it's in regular speed.

Well, I don't think he intended but his studs were up and hit the player in the face. It's hard to get away with that these days. If it was an opponent that did it, we would probably be saying it was a red.

it wasn’t your grammar mate that made it bizarre, it was your opinion about ‘stat padding’ mate!

He's bang average and when you get a red saying to me he wouldn't even get into their team and he's baffled that he gets as much game time as he does for us that says a lot.
Well, most reds don't actually understand 21st century football and want their team to play like they did in the 90s, so I wouldn't care about their opinions.

Pep has a soft spot for players he regards as having football "intelligence". Remember when he kept playing Eric Garcia despite him struggling physically? Eric has matured into a decent player, though not one I would want back, so maybe Rico will do the same.

I did feel for him yesterday though. It was in no way intentional and if he had tried to move his legs he could well have been injured himself.

Much of his good work goes unnoticed so we probably needs to get some assists and goals which are what many judge on.

I do not think he will be near our best starting lineup at the moment but he has a valuable role to play this coming season.

He’s useful and home grown.
No need whatsoever for his to start last night.
As Pep must know by now he’s a liability at full back. If Nunes is to be the RB, he needs every bit of experience he can get.

It’s a well trodden path. It’s not a tactic that would be beyond us. In my opinion.

We should put a stop to this home grown shit, you don't even have to be British to be homegrown.

It's a nonsense.
