For once, just fucking ONCE, I would love to see our local English support appreciate what us Yank blues go through to support the team we love. Your country is the size of fucking New Jersey, yeah the M12 is a mess, yeah the trains are inconsistent. Do you think the USA is without transportation problems, do you think people wake up in Detroit and decide to drive to Philly on a whim.
We're ALL fucking Blues for God's sake each and every one of us, support our team AND one and other.
For what it's worth, I had a great time today in my home town and also for what it's worth, I was at York away!!!
Was talking on the way in to a guy with his son who had flown in from Seattle on the Tuesday for the game and two guys sat near me had driven down from Maine, the media slag us but these fans effort and commitment is commendable

Like the look of Reijnders. Seamless integration on that showing.
Referees are shite everywhere. Harsh red, about the same sort of danger/'recklessness' in the one above knee height on Marmoush that only got a yellow. And thought we should have had at least one pen for the wresting on EVERY FUCKING corner.

Right decision to change the team. Would expect it to be a whole different 11 in the next game. Makes it difficult to judge players but think especially in the group it’s about managing players

Game was meh Reijnders and Reis impressed me Cherki gets a pass as it was literally a side to fit in as many attackers as we have imo

Heat aswell probs a factor in a slower game

I’m not getting the logic of giving a yellow card not a foul? Surely the yellow card is for the foul, which is a penalty?
Just for the the general behavior. They were repeatedly warned but he did nothing about it. Like I said, either way I think would've been better than the way he handled it, which was to do nothing.

If a player is deemed to be off for a red card it is checked by VAR which actually happened. Therefore Lewis was awaiting confirmation from VAR (which happens all the time but obviously you`re not aware as I stated) before the player officially is sent off.
Quite straightforward but you are ignorant of said ruling.
Thanks for the clarification of my ignorance, I suppose that the tour is out of the question.

If a rag or a dipper had the same tackle on Lewis and never got sent off this place would be in meltdown.

Didn't our new signings crunch Bern last season and not get sent off? They never do when it's a tackle on one of our players.

One of their players yesterday did a "tackle" on Marmoush that was exactly the same as Scholes' on Zaba at Wembley - the guy didn't even get booked! Same ref

Lots of holding at every corner but most of it was before the kicks were taken therefore penalties could not be awarded. I think it was Ake being thrown to the ground when Doku scored; pity we couldn't be awarded a bonus penalty.
Yes, that should've been a pen if Doku didn't score.

It sums up modern day football and social media that after Cherki had a good appearance off the bench in the Nations League for France, everyone was saying we'd signed a total superstar, and after a quieter game yesterday Sports Bible ran a story of "City Fans give their reaction to Rayan Cherki Debut" story, which showed tweets saying he was nervous, not that good, trying too hard etc.

The truth is always somewhere in the middle with the old social media.
You can see there's a really creative player there. And with creative players he's going to attempt low percentage passes and crosses and we'll turn the ball over more. But we'll also get something very special. I thought he was ok. He's very young and just barely been with the team.

the biggest plus yesterday was the return of Rodri. Yes there were some stray passes but you would expect that from a player that has barely played for nine months. I think you could see the speed of passing improve straight away. The control of the game improved as well. We will be harder to break against with him on the pitch
Plus Rodri made great interception and pass to set up Haaland 1 vs 1 when we been 10 vs 11

I wonder how long Obeng will be out for? Surely after being kicked in the head and rolling around in agony his participation in the rest of the tournament has to.be in some doubt.
Ben Thatcher assaulted Pedro Mendes at the Etihad and caused "a career ending injury". - It was a horrendous challenge but Mendes only missed one game.

Don’t get uppty, I don’t like us home grown who saved this club getting slagged which the OP did

If he’d given a yellow card without a penalty then someone else would have done it, if he’d given a penalty for it, as he should have done, it would have stopped

One flashback from yesterday is the number of US Citizens travelling to the game without tickets knowing that the price would reduce within an hour of the kick off.
It might also explain why the attendance seemed to swell in the second half
