It's Quiet the £250m return

Salah was at Basle at 21 and was 1 goal every 2.9 games that season (10 goals in 29 appearances).

Savinho at City is 1 goal every 23 games for us (2 goals in 46 games).

Incomparable!!

He should've been a 1 in 4 goalscorer (per 90) last season. He underperformed his xG by a crazy amount.
He did overperform his xG for Girona tho. Hopefully last season was just a weird outlier

Dippers going BIG this summer unfortunately, we really let things slip badly didnt we?

They have won the best summer transfer window trophy?

Have seen United fans being convinced they had a fantastic summer transfer business only to finish 5th or 6th afterwards.

Only the season decides the quality of the transfer window, everything else is speculation.

Think City will be strong again, but we are likely to have problems in the first half of the season with some fans declaring Pep finished at this level. A bit like in December 2020...

Yeah let’s keep buying players to play them at the wrong position. He will obviously come through the middle.

Which winger is near salah? Best winger in PL history.
Who should we go for? Leao? Every winger not named Mbappe, Salah, Kvaratskhelia is inconsistent and not top class.
Munich has been looking for an LW until now - everyone their interested in has been inconsistent because there are no better options out there.
Salah may have the goals stats, but I would put Giggs up there.

Red he may have been, but what an incredible player.

I would say that Wirtz, Frimpong, Kerkez, Guehi seems likely and a top striker makes them firm favourites for the title?

I doubt they will be favourites, let alone firm. It's not easy to win back to back titles, VVD turns 34 and Salah 33, Liverpool may suffer more injuries than last season, including to key players, etc. Wouldn't be surprised if they finished 3rd... Of course, they might win the title, the same holds for Arsenal.

Football is not played on paper. Pep is still a great manager, we have much more options than last season, and the best player in the world is coming back... I think we are the favourites.

What does their transfer activity have to do with ours? We obviously should have changed things more last summer, but the only possible impact would have been with Wirtz, where we may have been more willing to pay the huge fee if we were buying fewer players.

We aren't looking for a centre half or striker, have already signed a left back so what difference do their signings make to our business? Will they be a better team this season - probably, but that's what every team tries to do and yet no matter how much they spend, they all end up with less than 100 points.

They've only signed Frimpong so far, Sky are doing a blow by blow medical update for Wirtz but he's not signed yet. The other 2 are still only maybe's.

Who is this top striker they're signing as at the moment they're still stuck with Nunez?

Even if they pulled all of that off I still wouldn't put them as "firm favourites".

We're going to be stronger, to be sure, but until we see the outgoings and the final squad, Liverpool should be rightly considered favourites. Van Dijk can stroll through games, Salah presents a threat, and their additions look as if they will only strengthen them further.

Our squad is in a major transition and we're pinning a lot of hope both on unproven youngsters and avoiding further injuries. It's also going to be difficult for Rodri to recapture his pre-injury form and dominance, so we may have to dampen expectations there. Liverpool, by contrast, have the advantage of not playing this summer so go into the next season fresher than us, so I rather fear it is us who should be more concerned about incurring more injuries.

Very hard to say really, Personally I'd have them as favourites for the title next season due to the fact that they are the current Premier League Champions and they are strengthening the squad with what looks to be really good players especially Wirtz and Kerkez.

On the other hand it's very difficult to retain the title and it's something they haven't done in the Premier League Era, You'd expect other teams will up their game against them seen as they are the Champions.

It certainly does have to be taken into consideration that they've been extremely fortunate with basically no injuries last season, We've seen before how they've fallen off a cliff when Van Dijk done his cruciate and we could see the effects of that ourselves last season by missing Rodri for the entire season. Maybe they'll pick up a few injuries next season and it could put a spanner in the works.

I wouldn't write us off, Having Rodri back is better than any signing we'll make this summer it's absolutely enormous that he's available for us especially with the signing of Reijnders to play alongside him it's basically a new midfield next season compared to what we were watching last season.

I have a feeling that Pep and the squad will want to put the record straight this season and I really fancy us to win the league with Liverpool finishing second.

They have had no pressure put on them whatsoever during their two title winning campaigns. Every year they have come one on one with us in a race, we’ve beaten them - during this time they’ve had several players (Allisson, Van Dijk, Trent, Salah, Mane) that Sky, BBC and all their shit eating fans all over the world have tried to say are the best players the league has ever seen.

Couldn’t give two fucks about who they bring in this summer. None of them will have been in a title race with us yet, let’s see how good they are in April/May next year.

They are seemingly pushing for Isak but know they can get Gyökeres for £60m ish?

Salah ain't repeating last season (47 goals/assists in the league). He isn't as quick as he used to be and can't work hard in defence. Van Dyke isn't what he used to be either. Their defence is nowhere near as good as it was 5-6 years ago. Their new signings are likely to need time to settle, especially Frimpong who by all accounts isn't the best defender around...

The firm starters for us at the CWC, 5-6 players, are not going to play more than 5 full games even if we reach the final. Plus some of them were injured in the spring, so it's not like they have played too much football.

I predict problems for us in the 1st half of the season, but the 2nd half is likely to be business as usual.

I think that’s a fair assessment but there are 2 possible issues for them. Number 1 is that there is a high likelihood that many more teams will play the ‘9 in the box, play on the break’ tactic that we’ve had to find ways past for years and, should they sign the players they’ve been linked to, Slot will need to become skilled at rotating his squad, very quickly. Most of us could name 9 of their starting 11 because it rarely changed. Now he’s potentially going to have players who are used to playing, not playing. You only have to look at Salah and Diaz’s slapped arse faces on the odd occasion they’re substituted to know all may not be well, if he gets that wrong and they’re not winning every week.

Finally, if they buy all these players, I’m looking forward to the cost of their team being mentioned every week and pundits complaining that they’ve got 2 world class players in every position…

Still think alot of our problems is down to the wingers.

They are just not good enough at passing the ball accurately to another player in the box.
The ball is either played into open space, played behind attacker or not beating the first defender.

It’s wasteful not productive and allows the opponent to counter.

Doku and savio would need to improve significantly.

It will be 42 years at the end of next season since they're won back to back titles (now that is history :) ), safe to say that there's no one at the club who can help them over the line.
