I think some will. It's human nature to want to hear what people think of you - to want to be liked. The money you earn doesn't come into it. If you know for a fact you're being talked about and you can find out what is being said, some will be unable to resist. Even if you know much will be negative, because that's the way of many football fans.
I reckon Phil has been on here. There was a piece in the press this summer about him reading negative things about himself. Like some posters said, much of the content players will see these days will be on Insta/Tik Tok comments, but I think English players and ones who speak good English (Haaland, Gundo) will be tempted to look at specific threads about themselves.
You'd hope that would be food for thought for some posters re: very personal comments...but I think that's probably a pipe dream. Some posters write things they wouldn't have the balls to say to a players face.
My advice to any players who do come on here (and especially the match day thread) - read a book instead!
