Middle East Conflict

They're the same "race" surely... Unless race is determined by religion
Not really in the sense that most Israelis have a lot of European ancestors due to living there so long. The Palestinians way more middle eastern.
It's probably what annoys Netanyahu about them

So Israel are killing on average 50 civilians a day mostly queuing for food.

Why are they doing this as it will take an awfully long time to depopulate Gaza like this?
And why is there not more criticism from the UK and Europe?
Careful. That sounds a bit like terrorist talk.

Hard to talk with their mouths being full of Trump cock tbh. They all just stand around him quiet like little children being told what to do by a bullying abusive father. It's frankly pathetic how subservient some once proud nations leaders have become.

Was blissfully unaware of his existence before he turned up to this debate with his motormouth and a script lifted from wikipedia. Safe to say Finkelstein wasn't having it :)

Yeah Norm was hilarious in this and completely had Destiny's number. Rightly showed him no respect at all

He's brilliant is Norman. Its great watching Benny Morris or that other **** Dershowitz get dismantled by him.
His sidekick in that debate, Mouin Rabbani, is also good value. Not as combative but an equally sharp mind mixed with an appropriate degree of sardonic humour.

Here's his take on the recent 'posturing' as an example.

The newest symphony from the Hasbara Philharmonic Orchestra, entitled “Nuclear Monopoly” and conducted by Binyamin Netanyahu (Assistant Conductor: Donald Trump), consists of several movements:

In the Symphony’s first movement (tempo: Goebbelissimo Allegro), Iran is identified as the party responsible for the collapse of the 2015 JCPOA (the Iran nuclear agreement) because it was systematically refusing to meet its obligations and violating its commitments. In fact, Iran was scrupulously adhering to its commitments, with the only outstanding issue concerning questions about nuclear activities Iran had conducted and discontinued years before the agreement was negotiated.

The matter is simply not in dispute. In fact, when the United States unilaterally repudiated the agreement in 2018 during the first Trump administration, it made none of the claims currently being put about regarding Iranian non-compliance and violations of JCPOA commitments. Rather, Washington’s bill of complaint consisted of an insistence that it was a bad agreement, and did not address a laundry list of issues entirely unrelated to Iran’s nuclear program and never incorporated into the JCPOA.

In the Symphony’s second movement (tempo: Goebbelissimo Prestissimo), Iran is identified as the party responsible for the collapse of the recent negotiations with the US, and in several versions actually walked away from further talks with Washington to complete the development of a nuclear weapon. It was thus Iran and not Israel that initiated the war. No comment, because no further comment is necessary to anyone whose memory encompasses last week.

In the Symphony’s third movement (Goebbelissimo Forte Fortissimo), it is a matter of record that Iran has been rushing headlong towards development of a nuclear weapon, was within imminent reach of acquiring one, and was doing so in order to immediately launch it at Tel Aviv in order to destroy Israel in line with its ideological objectives. Israel’s latest war is therefore indisputably a legitimate war of necessity, since it had no other choice except certain destruction.

This is admittedly the considered opinion of Israel, the United States, and particularly Tulsi Gabbard since this past Wednesday. This notwithstanding there is, in fact, no compelling evidence that Iran has taken a political decision to develop a nuclear bomb. The observation is confirmed by Rafael Grossi, the head of the Hamas-run International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and every other genuinely independent specialist and analyst. There is, by contrast, overwhelming evidence Iran was enriching uranium to increasingly higher levels, and acquired the status of a nuclear threshold state, in order to compel the United States to reconsider its policy of maximum pressure against Iran. In other words, a high-stakes negotiating tactic.

Regarding a potential scenario in which Iran does cross the nuclear Rubicon and the nature of its subsequent intentions, the consensus among those who have provided an independent assessment of the matter is that Iran would be seeking a nuclear deterrent. In other words, it would cross the nuclear threshold for the same reasons every other nuclear power (including Israel) has done so.

Given decades of proclamations by Israel and by a growing roster of Western politicians about the desirability and even necessity of regime change in Iran, it doesn’t require an advanced degree in nuclear physics to determine what the purpose and objective of an Iranian nuclear bomb would be. Given that the current war appears to have made Iran’s rush to nuclear weapons status all but inevitable, and in light of widespread assessments that neither Israel nor the United States has the capacity to prevent this development unless Iran is physically occupied, and in view of the extraordinarily high likelihood that any successor regime in Tehran will be equally determined to pursue this course of action, sceptics can expect to learn more about their assumptions on this point within a few short years.

The only alternative explanation is that the Iranian leadership is so irrational and suicidal that it is prepared to see the permanent obliteration of Iran in order to nuke Israel at the first opportunity. Not only does its past conduct contradict the assumptions behind this explanation, it also contradicts what we know about the policies of other ideological states, such as Israel and North Korea, that possess substantial nuclear arsenals. Iran is hardly the first or only state to promote the chants of “Death to Israel” and “Death to America”. Yet the Orchestra’s musicians have not yet developed the capacity to distinguish between political slogans and government policy.

In the Symphony’s fourth and final movement (Hasbara Silencio), Israel does not have a nuclear arsenal or a monopoly on nuclear weapons in the Middle East, and would certainly never ever use or even threaten to use them. There is therefore no reason for Iran or any other state to challenge this state of affairs.

Yeah, it makes you want to dry heave. But if the play is keep the lunatic happy while making damn sure Europe can protect its own backyard in the long term and keep Ukraine in the game then I can swallow it (just).

A state visit to the UK though? I can’t swallow that no matter the rationale. It’s like taking what pride we have left, smearing it in dog shit and then eating it while making ‘yum, yum’ sounds.

Fuck that.

Totally agree fella

Just way to much vested interested in war.

Israel, US, UK, Russia, Saudi and pretty much everybody else arming each other to the hilt.

All ultimately paid by the tax payer, if their lucky not with their lives.

It's fucking insanity.

Where are the peacemakers?
Just think what we could do for the NHS, for schools, for social care etc if we *didn't* have to commit to blowing 5% of our GDP every year on defense. Putting aside the human misery, wars are such an appalling waste of resources.

As we start the 3rd millennium AD, we really have learnt nothing, have we.

I’m also pissed off that we’ve supposedly decided to purchase F-35As just to appease the orange tyrant. It’s one thing sucking his balls in public for the greater good, but spending taxpayers money on US equipment that we won’t even have full independent control of really rankles.

I would imagine that’s due to which group is most violent and looking for a kick off with the police

Ahh yea true

The violent group that "forced its way through the police line" earlier this year springs to mind - a real menace to society and it was only right that the met police came down hard on them and called them in for questioning:

The violent, tErRorIST jIhaDI jEw HAtinG MuzLIms were lead by John mcdonnell (mp, 73 years of age), Jeremy corbyn (mp 75 years old), and worst of all - a particularly aNTi SemItIC terRorist called Stephen Kapos, who is 87 years old and, err, a Holocaust survivor.

He was dragged in for questioning:

"He told Byline Times the police lines “melted away” as they proceeded, and suggests the police may have deliberately created a situation to entrap protesters into committing technical breaches."

The met police is occupied by the Israeli lobby and often acts in the best interests of this foreign country that is currently committing genocide, whose leading officials have arrest warrants from the ICC, and who murder British civilians simply for their own entertainment and knowing that there will be zero repurcussions or accountability

I would ban all political protests / marches relating to Palastine and Israel.

Dont know why we allow it, taking up valuable policing resource every week.

So how do folk over here highlight to our goverment that we're kinda not happy with them supporting another goverment blowing tens of thousands of children to smithereens?

Another terrorist attack in the west bank or as its called when Israelis are involved 'settler attack' https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/cz9knl5w529o

There will never ever be any peace whatsoever until these Settler Cunts stop murdering and stealing land. Even without the Gaza Genocide the world should boycott everything to do with Israel just on the West Bank issues alone.
