Maybe because they love the band, love the music, have wanted to see the comeback for years and want to experience it with the new generation. Everything is a cash grab these days. Did you pay over £150 for the FA Cup final that was shown live on terrestrial TV stations like me?
Nope

You sound a barrel of laughs.
No need to be rude. Just because i think being ripped off and spending hundreds of pounds on tickets and also aren't prepared to (of have the cash to) spend £140 on a Cup final ticket doesn't give you the right to judge me like that. Plenty of other blues wouldn't pay that sort of cash for tickets, especially when they have a family to take with them.

But then you’ve judged people who are going by saying you simply don’t understand paying a fortune to go to what is basically a cash grab.

I don’t think I’m being ripped off. I’ve got two sons, one in his 20’s, one who is 18. They’ve wanted to watch Oasis with me all their lives but it didn’t seem possible before the reunion. I’ve seen them 7 times but my younger sister was too young and saw them once I had my own kids and couldn’t afford to go. My sister lives a 3 hour drive from me and I get to see her 2 or 3 times a year.

We all want to go together and could all afford the £155. The Oasis concert will be the first time I’ve been with my sister and boys all together for 2 years. It’ll be a memory that will last forever.

I hope you can now understand that people will have many reasons for going despite your opinion that it’s just a cash grab.

I too have seen Oasis many times, i didnt bother trying this time not for any particularly negative reason...just couldnt really be bothered....but i think your example is precisely what this is all about.

Its not the 2 hours you''re going to be standing watching them....its the weeks of build up, its the excitement and banter leading up to it...its drink/dinner/craic before the show....its the actual show...its choosing to be with particular people....its bumping into people you havent seen in years....its the talk about it on the way home.....its the talk about it for days after....and ultimately the new memories you gain from going!

Yeah its pricey but you wont be able to do it again

I wasn't judging people. I said I just don't get it. For people who can afford it, its fine, but Oasis are clearly only in it for the money, as are the 'price-dynamic' ticket agencies. If you can afford it great and I genuinely hope everyone has a great time.

And that just about nails it. Quality post.

Think on before you go wearing stuff designed by Gallagher. Look what happened to City.
