Its not just Madrid, it's a route that involves Madrid and later bayern/psg against a route that most likely involves at worst, al-hilal, inter and Chelsea.

That's a huge incentive, getting knocked out in the last 16 compared to a potential easy route to the final is worth about £50m. Both teams will very much want to win this.

Not a fan of this front three.
Doku and Sávio shouldn’t start together as they’re just not good enough, especially with these full-backs. One of Foden or Cherki should be in there. Midfield looks great, but the attack feels weak.

Playing in a team that played backwards and side wards with zero intensity.

This year the club are clearly preparing for something different. And I think the two player you mentioned will benefit from the adjustment
