Juventus (N) | CWC | Post Match Thread

This kind of match is what the red shirts and the lap dog media didn't want. They have deliberately rubbished the tournament and were desperately hoping City wouldn't do something like this.
It's a long way to go yet but they must be shitting it in case we win it.

Great performance
Pardon my ignorance, but is this considered the start of the 25-26 season or the finish of the 24-25 season?
Also, I agree wholeheartedly with your post's assessment, Misty.

Ok if its a fitness issue, then i understand. But he is not being favored at all this summer. :(

He will get the game time. Most probably next game. He is definitely part of our future.

Exactly!

If any of the red shites were involved in this competition we wouldn't be hearing about how irrelevant the Club World Cup is. There would be no mention of the weather and how detrimental it will be on our performance in the Premier League next season
Simon Stone is not there. The BBC's head of sport is not there.

Yet he was there at the rags meaningless end of season cash grabs in Maylasia and Hong Kong.
Draw your own conclusion......

Definitely exciting times.

I'm probably in a minority, then, but I don't think Erling was much different to how he has been. He's always a trier, imho.

I know he has this hang-dog expression, which I think can give the wrong impression.

Having said that, I do wish that he'd come back into an onside position more quickly, but otherwise I've never doubted his commitment.

Hopefully he'll amble to another 30-40 goals this season.
Same I don't remember this can't be arsed attitude either

Not that they are any authority whatsoever … but when haaland scored it said on the tv “36th goal of the season”

But i would say its the start of the new season .

Pep's tactics were never the problem.
The lack of pace, press and movement was.

The many injuries were the problem, especially Rodri's.

It's like many posters had forgotten how many injuries we had, and focused entirely on energy, pace, movement, and the like.

If we had a normal season injuries wise, if Rodri was available, we'd have competed for the title.

Exciting game on two levels, one being the implications for the future.

Early days but something is happening. Looks like the new coaches have started to influence Pep.

Rodri being back and looking like he can get back to his best is also a huge boost. We saw today why we missed him so much.
I dont think it's the coaches influencing Pep particularly, this just looks like normal Pep to me and last season was the outlier for multiple reasons.
We change backroom staff fairly regularly and have done for as long as Pep's been with us, I think it's better for Pep that way as he likes having new people around to bounce ideas off.
It feels like the new coaches, and Kolo who's been with us a while let'snot forget, are getting more praise and being given more credit than they maybe deserve because people have heard of them before and because they're all obviously the best in the world due to their time at the holy site of Anfield.
If the exact same group of coaches had come to us from Libertad then they wouldn't be mentioned as much as they have been already, particularly by the press.
I'm sure they're all great at their jobs but I've seen people suggest that Pep's going to try getting the team to press the opposition due to their influence or that playing three up front is because of the genius ideas the new coaches have picked up from Saint Klopp or the football genius Rodgers, as if we weren't one of the best pressing sides in the past or have never used a fluid front three to great effect without them suggesting it to Pep.
People are acting like last year was Pep's and the teams normal levels ignoring the 8 years previous and we're now only playing well thanks to poaching some of the special genius that only those that have graced the hallowed halls of Anfeld could ever come up with.
I don't mean any of this towards OP in particular but I've already seen plenty of posts acting like Pep was a poor manager until now when he has been lifted to greatness on the shoulders of Anfields finest, which is patently nonsense.
