Very true and very funny............. :-)It’s the annual thread where a certain demographic re-realise that their era of music is still over.
I tend to dip in and out and watch threads of the artists I’m interested in and then by word of mouth recommendations.
Going to be an End of the Road highlight for me, too. If Rebecca finishes with "Deep Blue Okay" I'll be in bits.
That was my only year there - to be fair think they were on about 11am on the Sunday and whilst me and my mate were trying to rehydrate ourselves in our tent via the medium of vodka and fake Red Bull whilst working through our remaining substances, they were a decent start to the day........... :-)You went during the same period as me the. 2016 was an outlier. I'm 48 so possibly a younger old fart too?! Anyway the big indie bands stopped being mainstream at the end of the 90s but there was still loads of alternative stuff on the Glasto bill. Not this much pop, but I guess times change. I recall everyone being baffled that Sugababes were even there in 2003. If they were in their prime now they'd be headlining the Pyramid! The alt stuff seemed to draw big crowds today though so I suppose there's still something for everyone.
On that note - they are utter shite and always have been............ ;-)Lead singer is rag from York though
Franz Ferdinand's set is worth checking out. Especially the guest "vocalist" during "Take Me Out".
Other than that I've watched Supergrass (looked bored and indifferent), Blossoms (same set they've been touring since last year, but still entertaining), Wet Leg and Self Esteem.
Hasn't a certain Mancunian "singer" (loose definition of the term) ever appeared there then? The organisers are probably scared about him not turning up.Worst line up in Glasto history…
hahahahah. lOve thisOnly watched 10 mins of it and already getting annoyed at the knobs with their crap flags then the people pretending they're enjoying it much more than they really whilst trying to act natural with a t.v camera in their faces.
Cnuts on shoulders hoping to get spotted whilst blocking others view
''Do u like ur muffin buttered''Quite like these.
Saw a young girl with a city shirt on someone's shoulders last night. Surprised the BBC having wrote an article about mancs...not.Photo on the BBC website — the epitome of lazy journalism. The heading is “Why are there so many scousers at Glastonbury?”. And a photo of a woman wearing — wait for it! — a Liverpool F.C. top.
I think if I were an Everton fan, or hell, even a Tranmere fan, that would annoy the shit out of me. Hell, if I were simply from Liverpool, not in the least interested in football, and at Glastonbury, it would irritate me.
Liverpool = Liverpool Football Club. The equation is simple, and it's for the simple-minded.
