The Labour Government

Judging by the way Streeting has been leaning slightly Left recently..... somethings brewing!!!
Yes, and Rayner has been conspicuously NOT denying leadership aspirations. God help the lot of us if that chav ever became PM. Jesus the country would go down the pan faster than a sheet of Andrex.

I don't think she's any worse than the toff or middle class alternatives. Just another captured prick! Her upbringing has no part of the matter. At least she knows what struggle actually is. Just a shame she chooses to forget about it and instead represent her owners!

If you believe in hard left socialist policies, then perhaps. I think such policies are bonkers and will wreck the country, but I guess we may perhaps soon find out.

BTW, it would be nice if she wasn't a steaming hypocrite with her stance on buying your own council house.

Yes of course. I wasn't blaming Brown for bailing out the banks, merely stating that having done so, the country was broke.

Strange that the Labour supporters on here cut the Tories no slack for similarly having to introduce a furlough scheme that cost hundreds of billions, with the ensuing financial consequences we are now having to deal with. But no, it's all the Tories' fault. It's a hypocritical and frankly piss poor argument.
But that's how it comes across

" First of all, the Tories inhereted a country that was broke after Brown spent at the money bailing out the banks. We had a £150bn deficit, i.e. going further and futher into the red at the rate of £150bn per year, so SOMETHING had to be done."

Maybe saying "as a result of the GFC, Brown had no option but to bail out the banks which was to everybody's benefit" would have come across as puttin it in real context.

And no, it cant be compared to the furlough scheme as many people benefitted in no way at all, and plenty who shouldn't have done, did.

Any MP who votes in favour of this bill deserves all the shit coming their way. Every single last bit of shit.

I don’t get this, can somebody please explain?

It said in the original draft that those deemed permanently unable work will not have to be reassessed and would get support for life. Also, why would somebody ask to be reassessed, is there different levels of payments?

We should all pray for the claim assessors and software writers at the DWP who've got to make this two tier (Kier) system work.

They're lying, again. She lied in the house today, saying that PIP isn't an in-work benefit. They're also rushing it through, again. She's an evil bitch!

I wasn't going to use that word, but it's appropriate for her.

BTW, changing the subject a bit, how long do guys think Starmer has left? I have a sneaking feeling (call it a long shot) that he's going to resign later this week. Depends on how the vote goes tomorrow. I think if he loses it, or wins only by the skin of his teeth, he may throw in the towel. Also depends on when the story about the superinjunction and the rent boys finally breaks ;-)
This is why I want a law that should a PM resign a GE should automatically take place.

He won't resign. Keith Stalin will do to the PLP what he's done to the CLP and get rid of anyone who doesn't want to kiss his blairite ring.

Big Ange is breathing down his neck. May God have mercy on us all.

I’ve given up on the media for a while and currently relying on posts from here.

Surely she would know that PIP isn’t work exclusive, is she talking about the old IB?
