Losing to a Saudi team is embarassing - even if they are better than half the sides in the Champions League.

Serious fucking wake-up call for the club - or at least it should be. But they're probably more arsed about losing 30 million quid by going out earlier than expected.

Not sure what to make of it tactically - it felt like we had total control first half, then we concede and heads drop. Did well to recover, can't blame the forwards - 3 goals should be enough. Defenders, absolutely shocking. When you have full backs who are effectively wingers, you need to be able to trust your centre backs. They were absolutely dreadful. Pep tried to change it by adding another natural defender but we got even worse. It's a personnel issue.

Ederson, sorry but it's time for you to go too. Makes one save all game and manages to assist the winner.

Positives - Cherki, Foden, Doku. Savinho had less success but showed a lot of heart.

Can we get a coach who knows how to organise a defence instead of Kolo? Nice guy but he offers nothing.

Defence was crap but not overly fussed, apart from being up at silly o clock. Let the players have a rest, get rid of a few and bring on the new season.

Akanji as been solid in this cup, imagine playing in that heat for any player after just finishing a season, come on give them a break!! Only so much a human as in the tank
He’s been shite since he came back from injury before that I excused him for playing with the injury dreadful defending for the goal in FAC final and again tonight

Defensive is utter gash yet Khuzanov and Reis can't get a game.

Pep needs to be asked questions on this.

Nico Gonzalez still can't get a game as well.

Were going to be great going forward but I have to seriously question the decision making of the defensive transfer signings January onwards.

Well that was embarrassing. They're a decent side and they played well but there's no scenario we should be losing that.

Looks like another season of being targeted in behind our left side, just glad Ait-Nouri had a decent debut before whatever that was.

Defensively, the players themselves aren't the problem, it's the setup, we're wide open regardless of who plays and will be until the structure is sorted.

We’ll win absoloutley nothing as long as savinho is a starting winger of ours, he’s absolutely miles off what’s required to get us back to where we want to be.

No output, no fight, lightweight…would cash in asap and move him on along with any of Dias, akanji or Ake.
I’m sure there’s a player in there but he needs to develop elsewhere. Nowhere near the output we need

Gutted. Pissed off I stayed up to watch that shit.

Defending was a disgrace. Pep’s subs baffling.

Akanji, Ake and Dias having a competition to see who could play worse.

Savio awful as usual.

Rodri injured again.

Haaland missing sitters from a yard out.

And now no pre season.

What a fucking nightmare.

On one side, you had a goalkeeper who single-handedly secured the win. On the other, an overhyped, tattooed liability who couldn’t stop a shot to save his life. Honestly, I also think the other side had the better manager-yes, I said it. It’s a mystery how Savinho lasted 120 minutes on the pitch. If Pep had brought on Cherki and Foden around the 60th minute, we wouldn’t have even needed extra time. Just another case of poor game management, as usual.
