Played well first half but predictably didn't take enough of our chances. From the second half onwards we were second best.
They were definitely better defensively, we were all over the show and our changes made us worse.
I would have liked to have seen attacking changes made much sooner. We reverted to slow tedious play second half.
We may have a new set piece coach but we still can't defend or attack with them.
Overall very disappointing.

They deserved it. We are a lot more creative than we looked last year but if you look like you’re going to concede every time a team attacks against you then you’ll struggle.

Off the field a massive missed opportunity to put some funds into the pot. Likely limits our flexibility in the market from here.

They were a good side to be fair and puts our feet back on the ground. Some of the defending was shocking. We need a new goalkeeper. Compare the two keepers tonight and that's why we lost.
That was like city losing to some Championship team, good team my arse.

At least Pep, and perhaps more importantly his new coaches, get to see the obvious problems before the season starts. Defensive horror show to be honest, but wasteful up front and wide open to the break. The only mitigation, against a Saudi team, is the heat.
Pep is part of the problem. This is what people need to understand.

We will be good going forward this season but shit at the back. Need to change the entire back 4 (excluding the new guy from Wolves) and also the keeper.
Not sure, as we still can’t break down a parked bus, on the evidence today. They sat back and parked the bus and countered at pace. That is what most premier league clubs do. A lot of work to do, but £400 million and questions need to be asked. We needed pace at the back but Khus is on the bench. Odd tactics throughout the game.

Slow build up still....
Inzaghi set them up to do that

Like most good managers he knows how to play us.

It will happen many times next season as it did last season

Years ago it was said if a Pep team does not score in the first 30 mins it becomes easier to beat

Now we scored early today but Inzaghi was patient as he also knew that we give chances away these days

We were lucky to get to ET

Oh dear we lost in a crappy tournament
This imo will be a blessing in disguise
So Pep and the team can get ready properly for Wolves
Won't be losing any sleep over this
Unlike our plastic friends on Instagram
Who want the whole team and manager sacked
Ycmiu
Yeah also they can get out of that absolute plastic shithole called Orlando.

Complacency from Pep.
If we 'd started with Cherki & Foden we would have won easily but trying to rest them has completely backfired.

We scored three goals against it. Their keeper made double digits saves, some of them quite remarkable.

I'm only going off his experience as a coach so far, which was an embarassing spell at Wigan. Maybe he's a great coach, but we have zero evidence of it whatsoever.
Apart from the several years of work he's done elsewhere besides that, including at this club.

Have you considered that there's plenty of evidence but you just don't know it?

You realise that just because he was a defender doesn't mean that he's organising the defence right?
