PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

Is Manchester Life, the company that owns all those houses, somewhere in the City related parties? Could be potentially do some stuff with that as those 100+ houses must be worth a fortune.

Also couldn't we sell the Joie Stadium to the Women's Team to grab another hundred million? And then sell the Womens Team to another entity to grab even more? Possibly I've reversed the order there.

Basically what I'm asking is what's even the point of PSR now if everybody can do this? Why not just remove it if its so easy for the big clubs subvert?
There is no point in PSR. That is why I wrote this in April https://stefanborson.substack.com/p/explained-how-chelsea-finally-killed

I think I started the assumption but I am happy with it. Quicker better. That is not to say a delay is definitively bad news because there are so many things that can impact timing but as a general rule, I think it is a good assumption. Then is the question of when is early. April was the opening of the window for judgment. If the season starts without a decision, I would say this is a negative signal. I fully expect a decision imminently although I believe as of earlier this week, the decision wasn't with the parties.
you've been on talksport for too long mate, you are starting down the journalistic route of saying alot while saying nothing, it could be good, it could be bad, it could be neither or it could be both.

Is your “quicker better” scenario really that reliable in such a complex case. The fact that there’s 130 plus charges means any hearing was always gonna be lengthy- as proved the case, and the write up was gonna be a mammoth task. The window for an announcement is effectively like a piece of string - no one knows where we are in that window. We are all just waiting and naturally getting frustrated but as I’m sure you’d agree the panel just need to get this right.
Yes you can hold that view. But likewise I think it equally applies to a complex case - perhaps more so. I do know the general expectation on both sides seems to have been from March/April onwards.

You sound like the comments on Youtube!! I'm afraid with something like this, you can have a general rule but also be mindful that there may well be good reason for delay eg one member of the panel has been sick or had a big trial/arbitration straight after 115 etc. Who knows. But, as I say, my general feeling is quicker is better.

I particularly like the gas lighting over PSR. He says thank god PSR has restricted the spending by gulf states but fails to mention the biggest spenders are American. When sports journalists who know little about their chosen subject mix it with another, it never ends well.

Which is entirely my point, its saying alot without saying anything, its noise with no substance because it is so heavily caveated.

Is that what your partner would say?

;)

Cannot get behind the pay wall is this charge related or something else

Herbert hates the Saudis, because they don't treat widows of migrant workers respectfully (doesn't mention parallels to widows of air crash victims) and they also murder and dismember journalists. But he is delighted they are coming to displace City, because he hates City and Abu Dhabi even more than he hates Saudi Arabia.

Does anyone still remember the good old days - when football was football and business was business? Now they align so closely it's becoming increasingly more difficult to see any dividing line between the two.

ever since the yanks came in football is becoming increasingly less of a sport and more of a business decision, incrementally they are destroying it as a sporting endeavour in a bid to protect their investments.

That's because the amounts of money involved in football have increased exponentially, nothing that can be done about it until the whole thing collapses .

Herbert what a load of nonsense . "Thank God, too, that there are Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR) limiting the losses clubs can incur over a three-year period. They provide some kind of check on unfettered Gulf spending, without which the top of the Premier League would soon be beyond the non-petrodollar states".

There is no PSR anymore. Look at Chelsea who made a total mockery of it. Need some money sell some hotels or the women's football team to yourself ! With regards to spending money just for the sake of of it - look at UTd

You can take it like that or you can actually listen to the detail (not noise) which I present on the issue, timing, considerations, reason why quicker is better, comparative cases etc. In fact, I'm giving a lot of substance to my (experienced) view and with the reasons for caveats. If all you want to consider the situation once the decision is out, simply log out of this thread and don't watch analysis of anything that is not absolutely certain.

How do these panel members (or their employer/business) get remunerated for this type of work? Is it a fixed price for the job or an hourly/daily rate. As much as we have to be patient and try to understand it, this is the national game and someone’s taking the piss. At least publish some sort of update to confirm they’ve actually been looking at it and the paperwork hasn’t got lost down the back of the fridge.
