It's almost as if that wasn't its actual purposeThank f#ck FFP / PSR or whatever will save them from the owner. Oh hang on …..

The Rags have done virtually nothing to support the Greater Manchester Community. Even their charity is run as a separate entity with minimal support from the club. They use the brand to leverage donations from elsewhere. This has been the case for decades. City are the total opposite. And here tells the truth about how the governing bodies are being run, the FA, EFL, Premier League, all should hang their heads in shame, FFP rules were not put in place to protect clubs from going bust; it was simply to try and stop Manchester City.
Main problem is United making up the rules to suit them, They don't give a shit about any other clubs or football and grassroots or local communities or their own fans. I shake my head at why the Premier League and all the other clubs let them rule the roost ? The amount of Debt and mess they are in, Nobody should be taking orders from them on how football should be run,
Good luck to Sheffield Wednesday and its fans plus the local community it was built around

I mean there's being shit at your job, and then there's this. You've got to wonder at which point it becomes criminal negligence. This is other people's livelihoods he's destroying. The summer has been an absolute sh*tstorm, to the point so much has happened I couldn't be bothered to update on here as I have in the past on EFL matters.
May wages not fully paid
June wages not paid to staff/1st team
HMRC bill for June not paid
Manager expected to be announced as new Leicester City boss later this week
All coaches are out of contract
No Pre-season friendlies scheduled
No new Kit expected
North Stand needs work before season start otherwise a safety certificate will not be issued
Season Ticket money from early bird sales (I bought mine in January for the cheapest price) was most likely used before last season ended to prop up the finances
Any player who has not received May/June wages can give the club notice of contract termination, if the club doesn't pay what they owed within 15 days they can leave for free. I understand several players have exercised that right (good for them)
Work to upgrade the training ground has ceased due to money.
We are under an embargo for failing 2 EFL rules, this would be removed if outstanding debts are settled by Chancer or a new owner
We have a 3 window transfer window ban, and can only sign freebies or loans that do not involve a fee (including agents) with a maximum wage of £7k a week.
Chancer has turned down 2 bids for the club, he originally wanted £300 million (what a joke). The club is worth £40-50m at most, especially as the club doesn't own the stadium, Chancer does after he sold it to himself to navigate PSR rules in 2017/18 (he fucked that up so we got a 12 point deduction, reduced to 6 anyway which ultimately relegated us in 20/21 season)
Everyday there are more stories coming out of the club, football seems a million miles away at the minute, I'm more concerned if we actually start the season. It has Bury vibes about it.
Bottom line is we're royally up sh*t creek without a paddle.
If we do start the season I could see a team made up of U21's and journeymen players that nobody wants, and even they won't appear until after September 1st.
Triple embargo!
It smells like a bigger version of Bury which was essentially a long firm fraud by the owner. All the main assets at Bury were transferred to another company linked to the owner (by family) leaving all the debts on the football club. But of course FFP/PSR rules take no account of debt. What has happened to Wednesday is a disgrace and totally avoidable if the EFL did its job properly. No chance of that happening when Rick Parry is at the EFL helm. You couldn't make this stuff up.I mean there's being shit at your job, and then there's this. You've got to wonder at which point it becomes criminal negligence. This is other people's livelihoods he's destroying.
It's a weird thing isn't it? i mean for absolutely no reason whatsoever I've always preferred Wednesday, maybe it's a natural reaction to the Utd/red thing I don't know.More of a Sheff U man meself, but shame to read about this.
Morecombe in similar boat from what I've seen owner won't sell and won't put money inI see my local team Rochdale have signed a player today. So how is that relevant to this thread? Well until last week the player was at Morecambe who are in a similar situation to Wednesday. In fact as recently as Friday the club triggered a one year contract extension for him. He then didn't get paid this week for the 2nd time so has terminated his contract and signed for Rochdale on a free. Suspect this could well be coming down the line for Wednesday players in the next few weeks.
That’s a bit like winning the ‘least inbred farmer in Yorkshire’ award.Best team and club in Yorkshire in my opinion and such a shame it’s come to this for them.

Abergavenny Thursday may object.....If they go bust does the new club get to be called Sheffield Thursday?
Chancer by name, chancer by nature it seems. The summer has been an absolute sh*tstorm, to the point so much has happened I couldn't be bothered to update on here as I have in the past on EFL matters.
