52 | Oscar Bobb - 2025/26

Bobb is supremely talented and needs to be part of the squad next year. It’s going to be a long season, injuries will happen, players form will come and go and everything about the ways he plays/flexibility to play across the front line suits us perfectly.

Also the way he presses seems more suited to us and the direction of travel the team seems to be going in with The appointment of Ljinders etc.

Fully expect him to make his mark next year, maybe not in August but as the season develops

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and all that. It doesn't mean I don't rate Doku/Savinho, because I do, but Bobb is the better all-around player, and certainly has the higher ceiling(and floor).
Here was the list you said bobb was better than.

"We've got Marmoush, Haaland, Phil, Cherki, Savio, Doku for the front 4 positions."

Marmoush, Haaland... Hence my surprise

I hope I’m wrong, but I’m struggling to see how he gets enough game time go develop. There will come a point where he wants to be starting regularly and that’s not happening with the amount of players always ahead of him

given most of last season many said if we had Bobb fit we wouldnt be so bad, I fully expect him to be integral part this season. not sure tho Pep thinks the same. if we see underperforming Doku/Savinho getting much more game time than him we will now what Pep thinks of him. oh and Marmoush, Foden, Cherki also might take of the winger /wide players game time this season.

I don't think anyone thought a fit Bobb would have made much difference last season. I'm a huge fan of his BTW.

Don’t know why Doku is coming into it. He’s not been underperforming this tournament and plays on the other side

If I’m honest, and I know people are going to disagree here, I think we’ll end up losing Bobb to another PL team (Newcastle or Chelsea most likely). I don’t mean this summer, but maybe in a year or so.

It’s so hard for young players to break through at City. Your stars have to align, the window of opportunity is small and when it’s there you need to take it. Oscar did exactly that one year ago and then injury took it away from him. That same opportunity, those aligned stars… I just don’t think they are there any more.

I can’t see him getting enough minutes to remain here very long. In the system where the right back holds the width, he’s behind both Cherki and Foden and then Savinho is rightly or wrongly going to get more minutes than him too.

Disappointed to agree with this. I think he'll end up going and he'll be one we regret losing.

I've said on threads about other players who aren't getting game time, that maybe they aren't doing enough in training to force their way in. So I guess the same could be said for Bobb.

The danger with just judging based on training though, is that players are maybe used to playing against each at training and being good at that doesn't guarantee being good against other teams.

In your career you need a lot of skill obviously to succeed but you do also need luck.

Can’t help but feel the injury he picked up at that time has completely stunted his career and I fear for him going forward.

Just a horrible situation for him

It's obvious Pep doesn't rate him nearly as highly as the majority on here do.when he was out they blamed his absence almost as high as Rodris on our woes. Savinho getting the game time in front of him is the death Knell I'm afraid.
Perhaps you missed it but he missed all of last season with a broken leg and various niggles after.

That makes sense if we are actually better than these 2 teams. We were, but it's not so clear now. Quite a few of the Newcastle team would start for us. So if Newcastle think Bobb improves them, he probably improves us. We are not prime City anymore
