Yeah I guess if he has a really good season he's then worth 3x the price.

If not, he's probably still worth £10m.

Hammers fans seem a little bitter about him.

"Now, the 20-year-old has sealed a loan move away from the Etihad Stadium that will leave Hammers supporters with a rye(sic) smile."

I think that Rory Delap went to Stoke on his first loan, and only scored a few goals. Divin has a better all round game and hasn't had the same injury/ discipline problems. He made a bid difference to the u21's last season. I'd guess your valuation is a good one.

At least Rory had a good throw in ;-)

Anyway, hopefully Divin has a good season and Pep has a good look at him pre season 2026/27

Chelsea will be after him ASAP just to bolster their small squad... :-)

Oops. I've since looked at LIAM Delaps and Divins u21 records and its surprising how close they are, Divin played two and a half years with West Ham's u21 side. Evan Ferguson (Brighton) at u21 level was similar and now he is worth £25M. So good luck to Divin.

Anyone know how likely he is to play at Stoke? What are their current strikers like?

Based on the write up he appears to be a likely starter :

Sporting Director Jonathan Walters added: “Having already been aware of Divin’s talent and ability, as soon as we knew about his availability, we wanted to act swiftly and decisively to bring him to Stoke City.

“To sign Divin so early within our pre-season – able to play in our matches, build relationships with his teammates and generate tactical awareness of the way we play – is hugely positive.

“We know how lethal he can be in-front of goal, and he’s also someone with the desire and work ethic to put in the hard yards for the team, which is exactly what our supporters love to see.”

The reaction on Oatcake fanzine on both his games is very positive. An example from 'robstokie'

'He looks class doesn't he? Seems to have the knack of getting into scoring positions, particularly from balls into the box, not letting his head drop if he misses one, focussing on the next one. What really impresses me though is his desire both on and off the ball - he's unafraid to come short, use his physicality to hold the ball up with his back to goal to draw defenders out and allow those behind him to either run at the opposition or get in behind them. His running off the ball is top notch too - how many times today and last week did he close off passing lanes forcing their centre halves to pass sideways and backwards, allowing us to engage the press? Very, Very Impressive.'
So far it looks like Divin is able to play against championship defenders as he did against u21 defenders. Good luck to him, I enjoyed watching him last season.

My friend married a girl from Stoke (I know) and moved down there, his lad was a Stoke mascot for the first game of the season and Divin was his allocated player. His Mum said he was absolutely fantastic with her lad really engaging and polite, made the experience really special for him, and he went and scored aswell!

Think he'll have a great season for them his movement and finishing is good he'll score plenty in that League and maybe come back to our bench or at the least make us a nice profit.
