they can get a boat back anytime they likeWhat if they'd been to Disneyland Paris?
Some people are idiots and if all the evidence in the world is pointing at them, they'll still plead not guilty even if their solicitor advises them not to. A mate of mine was on jury service once and he was on an armed robbery case. There was clear CCTV footage implicating the accused but he still went not guilty and when it was shown in court he said something along the lines of "I know it looks a bit like me but it's definitely not me". That was pretty much his whole defence right there! How this has even gone to trial is criminal itself. Who is advising the brothers to plead not guilty when the CCTV footage is so damning? If the verdict and sentencing aren’t correct I can see there being massive public outcry, particularly given the sentencing we’ve seen for tweets never mind physically assaulting armed police officers
Are there return trips ?they can get a boat back anytime they like
Think they were picking their mum up. She had some altercation on the flight with the man who was headbutted and it spiraled from there. They were at the airport to pick her up.Didn't they assault other passengers too?
They drove from Rochdale. I assume they have Rochdale passports.where ever flight came from or they'll have dual passport
I'm surprised it's got to court as quick as this to be honest. If we think back, the police said they were investigating incidents that happened in 3 different locations at the airport and were appealing for witnesses. There was the one that we'd all seen involving the police officers, one that I can't remember the location of but might've been the luggage hall?, and the incident at Starbucks. It takes time to put a case like that together and I think cases in general are still taking that bit longer to get to court due to the backlog following the pandemic. For example, it took nearly 4 years for a historical sexual abuse case to get to court involving one of our old neighbours who we knew from growing up. The complainant first reported it in 2020 around the time of the first lockdown, and it was June 2024 when he was finally convicted, and another 3 months or so before he was sentenced.Having read the reports from the court proceedings about the run up to the incident where the bellend got booted in the head I can completely sympathise with the officer who did it. Although his training should probably have stopped him, the provocation was extreme. If anyone deserved a good kicking it was that ****.
It has also become clear why it took so long to investigate and come to court with multiple incidents happening in various places in the airport. Based on the evidence so far it certainly looks like those brothers should be locked up for a long time, and the copper should be back at work (not sure if he already is).
It would also be nice if some of the nobheads who were complaining about two tier justice and comparing clear rioting incidents last August, where swift justice was meted out, to this incident to admit they were wrong.
Sentencing guidelines say 2 years. The charge of assaulting an emergency worker on its own should be a blanket minimum of 10 years, no ifs or buts.
| Defendant | Charges Summary | Likely Prison Range |
|---|
| Amaaz | Multiple ABH + emergency worker assault + common assault | 2–4 years custody, reduced if guilty plea |
| Amaad | Single ABH | 1–3 years custody, reduced if plea entered early |
Just waiting for the ‘their names don’t sound British’.Had to double check I was on Bluemoon just then and not Facebook where it’s full of people saying deport them and ‘get them out of are country’
Don’t get me wrong, I want the book thrown at them, however some of the comments I’ve read online are as typical as you’d expect.Just waiting for the ‘their names don’t sound British’.
Maybe they could of if they’d tried alot ;-)Don’t get me wrong, I want the book thrown at them, however some of the comments I’ve read online are as typical as you’d expect.
Also there’s no way they’d get the correct their ;-)
Only ABH they have been charged with I thinkI think a lot of people will be shocked at the leniency of the sentencing.
