Morgan Gibbs-White

we are stacked with attacking midfield options.

if we were going for another midfielder we need another 6/8 (more a 6)

The real confusion is how Pep and the coahes see Nico Gonzales future/place in a starting 11

What we cannot have is a combo of Bernardo and Gundo starting this season....for me we need to sell Gundo (along with others) - its simply not a good enough pairing.

However the real focus should be on the defenders where we are seriosly lacking.

only one recognised left back and no recognised right back...along with a serious lack of quality at known quaiity at centre half (I say known as we have no clue if Khusonov and especially Reis will be good enough)....
Akanji and Dias are suspect
Gvardiol - should be good enough.
Stones and Ake are finished and should be let go/moved/sold

The english qouta rule is really messing us up. (especially as Stones is counted in that as is Rico Lewis who simply put is not geood enough) - so is Grealish and he is another one that will hopefully be moved on.....

Livarmento is the obvious choice but we arent getting him unless he puts in a transfer request as newcastle dont need to sell for any reason

Happened to Chelsea and Olise Chelsea backed out after Palace came to know that his agent tipped Chelsea about release clause palace threatened and Chelsea signed Palmer
Forest getting nothing above 60 mil now though…whoever they sell to; just hope we moved on when we were quoted the higher fee…

I think Forest are moaning because they thought they could keep that release clause a secret yet Spurs did their digging, found it and triggered it.

Forest paid with add-ons (which I am predicting he has met) £42m, add in the 10% sell on clause and Forest are only going to make £12m on him.

Whoever put that release clause in his contract I am expecting to be sacked or has been sacked already.
Sell on clause is always on what's paid above the original price not the whole price

We should hijack the deal just offer them the 60 and mcatee on loan for the rest of the season with option to buy and the deals done

If this release clause with a NDA is a thing then, we’ve gone wrong!

Either have one or not, a player gains from a RC, a club makes it’s peace when it gives one.

Move on Forest, learn from it.

Nunes is fine as back up, it’s Lewis that’s not good enough for us.

I guess with the price of Livramento, is it a price worth paying? That’s always a gamble isn’t it, Grealish was ok for a couple of seasons, but possibly not worth what we paid. Phillips clearly wasn’t worth it. I’d argue though that City should have paid the asking price for van Dijk years ago, he would have been worth it, as would Declan Rice have been. Not paying for them was a mistake, in my opinion. But that’s with hindsight. No-one knows for sure with most players.

So I can understand why the club may be reluctant to spend over £80m on him. But when we spent £53m on Walker that was a bargain. Could Livramento be worth the risk?

Wouldn’t need one he would be a free in a year.

Why would we do that once we meet the sell on clause it’s up to the player where he goes we’d be just wasting McAtee

Worth considering if we really were interested. It’s in the agents best interests to get the highest fee possible. So he wouldn’t have shared the 60m to us if he thought we were going to bid 80m.

Several weeks have passed and I think now the lad is getting anxious and so has gone nuclear and got his agent to spread the word about the 60m to get a move.

Is it? Why? Wouldn't that impact the amount the buying club could give to him/his player?

Not necessarily, agents can get paid on both sides so if he brings 80m to forest he will get a percentage of it. I don't think if we spent 100m on him his agent would get £100 because theres nothing left.

Makes me laugh when people see somebody who works hard in midfield and automatically think they're shit on the ball. Like it's one or the other. Really narrow-minded thinking, baffles me.
Well look at David Silva, KDB and Bernardo. We've had those types of players.

and if I'm the player, I'd be looking for a new agent as he's clearly not looking after my best interests

He’s like ADL at Napoli. Toys go out of the pram whenever he doesn’t get his way.

This will bil down to whether there is a release clause. If there is, and Spurs have met it, he can moan all he likes. There’s nothing he can do.
I think I read somewhere that insinuates that now Palace have dropped down to the conference league and Forest will play in the europa league that the clause isn’t valid. So guess they had some form of European football as a security against it.
