I'd pay £270-£300 if those flights were direct from Manchester, but judging from the other posts there's going to be too much downtime spent hanging around at airports, train stations and ferry ports, and before you know it, you've committed to 3 or 4 nights and spent £1000

More importantly I'm also hoping to do all the CL away games and that first fixture might be just a few weeks after the actual draw with zero chance of an official trip or cheap flights, albeit somebody will inevitably pretend that they only paid £39

If I'm going to pay way over the odds I'll save it for then.

They are to Palermo and decent flight times
Thursday to Monday

Apologies as I was trying to make two different points

Not disputing your post and if I lived near Edinburgh I would definitely go for it
However even the quicker trains are 4 hours away and that's before I allow extra time for reaching the airport at least 90 minutes before the flight

From Manchester (I'm only 20 minutes away in a taxi) it's a different story involving all manner of transport connections or hanging around at airports/ferry ports etc

I might still bite the bullet but it definitely won't be cheap

Hey no problem at all i was just clarifying the no hassle with travelling via Naples etc
I know i score on these kind of trips

I really hope City are doing tickets via our website.

Went to Girona earlier this year and that was a piece of piss to get tickets.

Looking to do Lommel and Troyes during this season but their websites are a bit of a mare on first look.

Lets hope the bloke who did Girona's ticket site has had input in Palermo's as he's clearly not had any in the other two.

Mr Business Class JFK worried about a few piddling pounds?

Its not too bad, no pockets in shrouds. ;)

Booked it as soon as game was announced. Never been to Sicily and always fancied it. £290 return with Lufthansa via Munich Fri - Mon. 3 nights Airbnb £400 for 2 bed apartment in the historic centre.
You have done well there.
I was later booking and tried for Fri to Sun but was expensive so doing Thurs to Sun, same route.

Bumped into a couple of Blues yesterday at the Hearts v Dunfermline match and they were saying their pals are going via Malta
Ferry only takes 90 minutes or so

Do it. It’ll be a great trip. Then do the CL games. They’ll also be great. You can regret it when you’re dead.

Couldn't agree more mate and as Tbilisi knows I've already done South Africa, Australia, and the USA in the last twelve months, plus Krakow,. Cologne Seville and all the CL games.

Never mind saving up for a rainy day.
It's pissing down and I'm spending it now

Me too. I took my pension pot early and am whittling it away at an alarming but wonderfully enjoyable rate!

I learnt my lesson en route to Aris Salonika after saving £60 by getting an early flight to Geneva and having five hours to kill before my connecting flight

Five hours later I'd spent £60 at the Airport bar.
Few of the lads I go to the match regularly with, decided to do the last PSG trip “old school” and organised their own coach. It was still stuck on the Boulevard Périphérique whilst my taxi pulled out of terminal 2.
