Unless my memory's seriously playing tricks on me Palmer went through a very sterile period last season in which he neither scored nor provided assists, and which coincided with a number of dire results for Chelsea. At one point weren't they down to eighth or something like that? Pleased for the lad, and he's a good player, no question. But let's keep a sense of perspective. (Incidentally, we comfortably did the double over them last season, and we were perfect shite, as everyone knows).

I think he did have a period of not scoring or assisting, but his stats last season were still very good. Didn’t he outscore/ assist more than most of our attackers?

Let’s be honest he’s one of the best young players in Europe. No point in trying to downplay it
