Not much their defence could do. Palmer was world class in scoring 2 and assisting the third.

He's been excellent as have Chelsea, they have took every chance they've had.

Why would I make that up? When England had camps, they'd do a blog type thing and they'd ask who has been the most impressive in training, vast majority said foden. You also get ex players like Rooney and Gazza call foden the best talent England have. I'm not sure where you've been if youve never heard a comment like that.

Comparing Palmer's ability with the ball to Foden's is like comparing Mahrez to Savinho. Foden is a superb player that we are lucky to have, but one-on-one he is not in the same league as Palmer.

That’s funny. When Foden lead us to a title I wasn’t hearing these comparisons. One bad season and suddenly he’s the Savio compared to Mahrez in these conversations. As we speak the only big six teams Palmer has performed against are Spurs and United. He’s got 2 NPG in his career against the big six compared to Foden’s 17

I agree, but if he doesn’t reappear this season Palmer will rightly be regarded as the better player. Some players peak incredibly young in the modern game, hope that is not the
Case with our Phil. One season can be forgiven and seen as a blip, two seasons in your prime is a different thing all together though. He needs a big season otherwise he could fade into nothingness.

Haha one good season followed by an ok season followed by a good season he be looked at better than Foden if you believe that your deluded! Both are top quality but palmer has to contribute massively to win the league for Chelsea to just match Foden!

Superb from Chelsea and got their tactics spot on. PSG haven’t been able to beat the press at all and Chelseas midfield even though I fucking hate them, are very very good and just too good for psg today.

It's been obvious from day 1 when Maresca took charge how many Pep ideas he has implemented.

Even in this CWC, he used some ideas Pep has recently done as well, so clearly hasn't stopped watching.

Anyway, I maintain it's a shit and pretty meaningless competition. Less meaningful than when we won it as we had to actually win something meaningful to get there.

Apart from the money. Not sure of the actual figures but I believe we received almost as much for reaching the last 16 as we got for finishing 3rd in the PL.

Where it becomes significant is what clubs that do well will get. For example, we got around £63m for the Champ League, partly based on previous performance, whereas Arsenal got £90m+ and Chelsea will get something like double the amount we won in this competition. It all helps them more going into next season if they spend it well.
