I think the Premier League will be more competitive this season but £70m for Ekitike is expensive. First £55m for Elanga and now they are looking at Ekitike who is hugely overvalued. I remember him when we were all looking at the Marmoush transfer. Marmough was £59m and Ekitike was very much in the background. I cannot see how he can have developed so much in 5 months. He has 15 goals, not 30.

Wolves are linked with Arias who starred for Fluminense in the CWC. I thought he was their stand out player. He will be a good signing for someone.

It feels like there will be a decent gap between top half and bottom half of the PL this season, as teams like Palace, Bournemouth, Brentford and WHU get weaker.

Reporting on X, Romano has just reported that Liverpool have started club-to-club discussions over a record bid for Newcastle striker Isak. The Magpies don't want to offload Isak and are hoping to offer him a new contract, but Liverpool have now opened talks to try and prise him away from St James' Park.
