It's Quiet the £250m return

We do have depth, but it's what Ake, Stones, Dias you're going to get. None of those can play 3 consecutive games as they are made of glass. The only reliable options we have are Gvardiol and Akanji, and I feel Akanji has gone backwards. I'd honestly rather we played Reis or Khusanov next to Gvardiol than Akanji. Reis and Khusanov are both ready and should be trusted, but Pep for some reason doesn't trust them so for that reason we definitely need another CB.

We know Khusanov and Reis won't be trusted by Pep so we should look at letting go of Akanji and going for Zabarnyi at Bournemouth or as I've suggested before Guehi at Palace. They provides us youth, pace, intelligence and on the ball quality and they wouldn't cost us more than 45m.

Speculation on your part imo, and I think you under-estimate the fees that clubs will demand for their players should City decide to move for them.

Lots of assumptions about circumstances which will no doubt be addressed before the window closes.

Fans being spooked by other clubs business atm.

Even if Kovacic and Gundogan leave and they may well, there still won’t be enough game time for Echeverri and maybe O’Reilly too to develop as well as a good loan would. The club will consider all options but loans may be the best for next season.
Blatant from limited minutes that Echeverri has miles more to him than Savinho for example, we need a reshuffle

Gundogan, Kovacic, Bernardo all need to go.

Bobb loan makes more sense imo, needs game time after an injury like that.

fucking backwards were going. So were potentially gonna loan out/sell. Bobb O Rielly Echeverri Reis Nico G Khusanov. And keep our seasoned pros and their terrible injury records. Rebuild just delayed another year so. I thought Pep was sticking around to do this rebuild. Or is he just gonna piss about till end of this contract

You aren't allowed say stuff like that on here as apparently it comes across as "being over dramatic".

Let's be honest, the club haven't strengthened the positions that's required, a right back is a must along with a commanding centre back.

Now all the talk is letting the players you've mentioned leave whether it's permanently or on loan, it's absolutely outrageous if we let those lads leave and hold onto Kovacic, Gundogan and Bernardo...No doubt Bernie is staying anyway as he's been made club captain.

As it stands we are way off were we need to be to compete for the top prizes. Unless we start winning games if football 7-6 throughout the season!

i'm just not joining the moaning crusade. I know what I saw from my club at the CWC, one half of football notwithstanding. We are favourites for the title.
Not sure we are favourites but I've questioned Liverpool's ability to go back to back champions, Arsenal are second, Chelsea may come through and United will be up there assuming they replace their entire squad.

Khusanov is the balls we need at the back if Dias can't get his form back. Dias has become a little obsessed with throwing himself across the box with his hands behind his back, blocking shots and getting the high fives instead of doing the boring defensive work. Him and Josko will start the season along with Akanji and Alt-Nouri I think but Im eager to see more of Khusanov. Sadly I think Stones and Ake will spend most of the season injured.

we seem to have too many options ahead of them though especially when I consider Haaland and Rodri will start most games. Reijnders is I think likely to start many games which means we have Marmoush, Cherki, Foden, Doku, Savinho and Bobb fighting for not many places BUT with all of them having something to prove I'd expect to see some real competition. Doku I think may be ready for a standout season. R/Nico seem to be the odd ones out but their versitality might make them useful in the cups and early games of the Champions League along with Echeverri and Bobb. Pep has tended to use the Champions League group games to blood the youngsters in the past rather than the league

First game I expect to see Ederson, Akanji, Dias, Gvardiol, Ait-Nouri, Rodri, Reijnders, Cherki, Marmoush, Haaland and Foden starting. Silva maybe in for Cherki instead. That's a team I'm excited to see with plenty of attacking options off the bench. Long story short I think that's a team that will push Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea hard next year

Six put up for sale according to the The Fail/Pathetic

"According to The Athletic, Stones is one of six players who could be on the way out of the Etihad Stadium, either on loan or permanent deals. Ilkay Gundogan, Nico O’Reilly, Mateo Kovacic, Claudio Echeverri and Oscar Bobb complete the list, although the latter is believed to be unlikely to leave having missed the entirety of last season through injury."

Ye there's 0 legitimate reason to dump all the younger lads to give the old guard another season. If the older lads stay then they are at the end of the bench or not selected. Completely futile to keep them over those you wish to develop going forward. One of Stones, akanji or ake goes and khusanov stays. Gundogan goes and then 1 of either bernardo or kovacic goes and nico steps in over them. Bobb should be given more opportunities than savinho and doku too so we know where we stand with bobb going forward.

Sky sports news app reluctantly put up the puma deal but not as a headline but it's disappeared and been replaced by the headline of "stones one of five to leave city".

They just can't handle anything positive about us.

Great post. Nico O'Reilly isn't a left back. He's a number 8/10. He covers so much ground and provides the athleticism and box to box profile we have been lacking for the last 12 months. He's also a goal threat, something alot of our midfield aren't.

I feel Echeverri needs a go. I'd sooner we got rid of Kovacic and Gundogan and kept Echeverri and gave him a go in the side. He doesn't need to be loaned out. He's good enough.
Mate if gundo and kovacic are sold who the hell would pep play? He’d sooner play with 9 than start the better, more youthful, players because EXPERIENCE

Absurd to say we are favourites for the title. We will be there or there-abouts for sure, but we definitely need a right back. Nunes can't be the first choice RB going into the new season.

I think Nico O Reilly has a great chance of getting game time. I was thinking RAN I am almost certain he has played on the right side too as well as the left. I think Nico has put his name as the second choice left back. I don't see Gvardiol playing left back any more he will be 1 of the central defenders for me. I just think like Rico Lewis before him Pep can work with Nico. If he backs himself and trusts his ability he can be a key player for us for years to come.
I wouldn't be against a loan move for him in the role he wants to play she how well he progresses. But this window is going to be long still 6 weeks to go he might not be on his way out if we get rid of others.

find it quite laughable that the old guard will outlast Bobb, O Riley and Echeverri. Sounds like a horror movie.

Even the argument of first team football is better than anything. In a time where there are more games than ever. Where there’s 3 games a week. I just don’t see how there’s not enough mins to go around.

Yes our main midfield is Cherki Reijnders Rodri but do you really expect them to play every single game ?

I remember the last World Cup where the players just refused to put a lot of energy into games leading up to the tournament. These kids won’t do that.

with the amount of kilometres on Bernardo’s legs, age catching up to Gundo and Kova. The questions raised on Nico G, Rodri fitness issues, it just doesn’t make sense to let all the future stars go.

We didn't play against one good team, yet managed to concede 6 goals in 2 games against teams that would have no chance of getting anywhere near top 6 in the PL next season.

We looked good going forward but if we can't keep the backdoor shut against bang average teams then we aren't winning the PL or even coming close.

I also saw Cherki barely start, Marmoush not get prioritised, I saw players we already know what they can do like Dias Bernardo Gundo instead of Nico G Bobb Khusonov.

I saw tactics that didn’t make sense like inverting our fullbacks that like to attack and making our inverted wingers be our width when that never worked last season.

We absolutely played against a good team that beat us 2-0 last season and destroyed them with ease. why does this count for nothing but one bad half vs a strong al hilal team is the end of the world? Even against al hilal we were unlucky to not be 4-0 up at half time and just conceded every shot on target.
