Maybe but which top CL clubs would be willing to pay a fee and his wages at almost 32, no others seem to be in for him,he obviously has a few years left but which top CL team would give him a 4 or 5 year contract, and better, imo, Galatasary for 2 or 3 years than Saudi from a football POV though maybe not financially.

He can go to Galatasaray now, on a lot less money than he is on now, and stay there the next 2,3,4 years etc. On less money. Or he can stay here another year, on more money, competing at the highest levels, and then go to Saudi or the states next year, on a lot more money, after having earned more for a whole year. As well as collecting a leaving bonus and signing on bonus.

I know it is not all about money, but he has both time and football on his side just now.

It’s hard to know where his head is, after all if its CL and good wages I think there has been an extension on the table for a while, and he could stay for another year anyway. Maybe he will and it’s just twitter rumours. Maybe he just wants a change of scenery or a new challenge.
