I think also that if they pay him £300k then others will want the same wages, or want more than they are currently on. If I'm Bowen I wouldn't want someone coming in who has had a disappointing two years earning a lot more than me.

No idea, I don’t know enough about PSR and clubs finances or wage structures, but the lack of teams trying to buy him but a few willing to loan him presumably with us paying some of his wages suggests it is a problem and the same one united are finding with a few.
