Some absolute comedy on the reddit threads about Isak. Long story short Arsenal enquired about Isak at the end of the season and were politely told to go suck their own dicks by Newcastle. Liverpool get the same response but some of their fans are outraged at the 'arrogance' of Newcastle and that Liverpool are the most decorated club so he should go to them. What planet are these people on?

Dey are on Planet Liverpool, la.

They must close of hitting the PSR, no ? They spent nearly £300million and only sold Qunasah so far.
Highly unlikely. People really dont understand just how much the top sides, not just the dippers, can spend if they choose to. The reason why they dont is because it potentially hamstrings you in the future and you'll always want as much wiggle room as possible.

Just selling Quansah for £35m effectively gives them £175m to spend this window. Any pure profit coming in allows you to spend 5x that in the same period. Of course you'll also have to find income to cover the next 4 years but thats for a later concern. They've not spent a lot over the last 2 years, they've got big revenues coming in, without looking at any figures I'd wager they could easily spend double that again before having to be concerned.

We need to talk more about Ekitike. The word 'generational' is being bandied about.

Scored a similar amount of goals to Marmoush in Bundasliga and he moved to City in January. If this guy is generational does that make Marmoush the second coming of Pele.

You wonder why you don’t get much of a welcome on here with weird posts like this?

Interesting to see their expected goals and assists too. Ekitike got 23 G+A from an expected G+A of 27, meaning his missed a lot he should have scored. Marmough got 24 for 13 expect G+A meaning he scored a lot he had no right to.
Both will very likely regress to their expected values over a larger sample. I'm very happy with our guy I wont lie. Sorry for the image quality.

This guy is highly respected, no?

He might be great. But Werner and Havertz were great in the Bundesliga too. I'll be honest, I'll take you gambling on Eketike over you getting a proven PL goalscorer in Isak any day.

yeah, I would have loved Isak. I thought we had him there for a while but fair play to the Geordies/Saudis for holding firm. I think they might regret not taking the Coutinho money though one day.

Of course it is, he’s signing for you. If he was signing for Newcastle or Arsenal he’d be ‘unproven in the PL’, or if it was for us he’d be ‘over-priced’ and paid for with ‘oil money’.

The media suck the cocks of Liverpool and rags, you must be able to see that. As a dipper yourself, when was the last time you saw a negative article about Liverpool? The football club, not the city.

Not been keeping up - do I take from recent pages that Isak if not going to the dippers?

So what I note is this.

Milos Kerkez - Bournemouth, £40m

Florian Wirtz - Bayer Leverkusen, £116m

Jeremie Frimpong - Bayer Leverkusen, £29.5m

Giorgi Mamardashvili - Valencia, £29m

Source: Sky Sports Transfer Centre.

Ekitike, we are told, is a done deal, at more than £70m.

So ok, we're looking at spending — just for this window — of north of £284,5m. Now if they've got the money, and they can stay within the PSR rules, sure, go ahead spend it. Got no problem with that. It would be hypocritical of any City supporter to say otherwise. What I simply can never get my head round is Why do they get a free pass from the media? Why is there never mention of “big-spending Liverpool” which is trotted out like a kneejerk mantra, all the time, relentlessly, in relation to us? And which is repeated by brainwashed morons, supporters of other clubs, on the comments section of the BBC when they're not droning it down the pub.
When we smashed Juventus in the CWC, there was the usual comment: “Means nothing, they bought it.” I shouldn't let it get to me — I shouldn't even read it, in fact — but it does. Yes, you fuckwits, the days of Burnley and Ipswich Town winning the league are long gone! Everybody buys their success — with the single fairy-story exception of Leicester City (which had not happened since Derby County in the seventies, and will not be repeated again this century). And that is true in every major European league.

I never used to believe it. Thought it was Bluemoon, persecution-complex, paranoia. But we really are, without any shadow of a doubt, treated and reported differently. Utterly sick and tired of it.
Once you've seen it, you'll never unsee it.

I've been ranting at the telly for fucking years.
