It’s good planning, next season Isak will have two years left on his contract and if they don’t make further progress this year it’s likely they’ll cash in. I’d imagine all sides will have agreed behind closed doors if he gives them another year he can go next summer for an agreed fee.

The new signing who is still young has a year settling into the league/team without the added pressure of needing to be an instant success. He’ll still get plenty of game time now they’re back in Europe.

Isak was struggling with an injury towards the end of last season, think they had to leave him out at arsenal. They could play 55 games next season, so going into it with just Isak would be madness.
 
we get to Livramento first, might make Newcastle think if they want to lose another of their few crucial players. we need to act real fast now.

or dippers get Isak, Barcodes get Ekitike and they will really be in a mode like they wont entertain even obscene offers for Livramento who is fixed starter for years to come for them with Trippier almost done at age 35.
 
Anyone who watched Spence for more than 5 minutes last year would see that he’s quality. He’s big, fast and versatile on the entire right. He’s should be the target anyway. I don’t say it lightly but he’s worth negotiating with levy over

Nope might as well stick with nunes than deal with levy who won’t pick the phone up and ask for near the amount Livamento
 
What Newcastle would need imo is an Ake or Akanji profile. PL and CL experience, to ease their CB issues which is that Burn and Schaar are old as fuck (both of them are like 34?) and Botman is almost as injury prone as Stones.

Basically they need a new RB backup and a CB. So Savona makes sense. He can play both but is better as a RB. They might even need 2 CB if Botman stays injury prone. Burn and Schär can’t play all season.
