Ederson isn’t a reliable goalkeeper anymore. He’s frequently making mistakes. He is starting to pick up constant injuries. He’s cost us in several games this season. There’s also a case I feel of perhaps he doesn’t have anything more to give. With Trafford, it’s a refreshing change. Came off an incredible campaign, excellent shot-stopper, HG, means we can go for any RB now (not just HG options) - very tall so will help us in set-pieces etc. Really good shot-stopper.

I don’t know, teams still sit back with Ortega in net. Though not as much admittedly.

Christ, if getting JT means teams would stop the bus parking then I’d be inclined to pay £1b for the fucker!

I mean Ederson + Trafford would be great as a goalkeeping unit. With Bettinelli as the new Carson (we cannot replace him).

Similar way to what Arsenal had with Raya/Ramsdale a couple seasons ago — with the better goalkeeper quickly becoming apparent.

He has 1 year left on his contract, if he stays it's to get a bigger signing on fee or because he hasn't found a club willing to pay, not because of his desire to stay. His interviews were a veneer of nonsense

Your not gonna get another Ederson on the market. Same way there is no KDB. Nor is there a Walker.

None of Costa, Chevalier, Trafford come close to Ederson’s ball-playing ability but all are better shot-stoppers and more reliable imo.

Yeah we don’t need another one that’s my point. The amount of first shots that hit the goal is crazy. Other teams showed that the keeper doesn’t need a top Ball playing keeper. In the end Shot stopping > ball playing. Don’t know if costa is worth it though. I feel like that’s the Portugese influence again.
