Strage that he only added another year to 2028. Hardly a commitment to stay long term.
I'd be surprised if we signed MGW. He's too expensive to be a squad player, and he doesn't have the quality to be a regular starter for us.
Cherki, Foden and Marmoush can play behind Haaland. We have enough options in CM with Rodri back plus Nico G and TR. Kova and O'Reilly are options too. I think at least one from Gundo and Bernie will stay.
MGW won't happen.

We are stacked in the positions in which MGW might have played. Plus, we've got outstanding talents who may be ready to start more games in 1-2 years like Echeverri and Bobb, O'Reilly as well.

I didn't see the point in this signing, but I've gotta admit that over the months I warmed to the idea.
As mentioned above, a 12 month extension probably with a huge wage increase doesn't scream long-term commitment, so it'll be interesting to see what (if any) his new release clause is.
I'd have happily dispensed with McAtee, Gundog & Kovacic & brought in MGW. We'd lose three & bring in an England international & increased the squad quality whilst cutting numbers in the process.

I think any deal fell through when I believe that they wanted $60M plus McAtee and Spuds cocked it up for them.Why not, I don't think MGW staying will impact on McAtee be sold and if Forest put an offer of £35m he will be sold.
