Who is Trump's base? I guess we all have opinions. For me, I think his base is a function of voted for him 3 times in Republican primaries, donated some money, bought some merchandise, is quite public (including regular old social media) about it all that kind of thing.
A couple of days ago I read an article that had an interesting take on Trump since 2015, Trump's "movement" reminded the author of a PONZI scheme.
I think Trump is deep into a death-spiral feedback-loop with his hard-core base, thinking revenge is leadership and trolling is governance, and stage-managed performative patriotic-themed "toughness" is leadership.
The fact that his base is aroused by the sight of South Dakota's Kristi Noem playing right-wing warrior botox queen whilst Trump publicly muses about the Declaration of Indepdence causing the Civil War says it all. To cap it off, the man who said there were airports during the Revolutionary War, just bragged about putting a copy of the Declaration in the Oval Parisian Brothel because it means so much to him, others, not so much, otherwise they'd have done it.
The fact is, Donald John Trump thinks the Declaration of Independence is a boiler plate clause in a lease agreement.
Every time he does or says something more insane, MAGA cheers louder. And every cheer convinces him he's still the chosen one. So he takes it further, and further. Where do you go after posting an AI video Epstein distraction of President Obama - a President you accused of treason - being forcibly-restrained in the Oval Office, forced to his knees, at the feet of a laughing Donald Trump. What is next? Where is the next dopamine rush coming from? The next "high"?
It's not just about Trump "winning", he's got an insatiable need to feel worshiped, glorified, constantly spoken of as unprecedented - the best ever, the greatest ever, doing the best things ever saving America from "DEATH" (as he claims), and everyone who doesn't acknowledge that constantly is un-American and a loser, dangerous, a threat to America First. Trump's childhood must have been really really fucked up.
This is a guy, who is on record claiming "he who saves his country violates no law" and just last week stated that he alone knows what "...is best for America."
