James Trafford joins City | 5 Year Contract

Forced due to his outside interest, and clearly happy to transition in over the next 12 months; expectations and comparisons to those before him naturally exist; we’ll never see the same ability on the ball as Eddie, he’s been a perfect 10 for me, a mean 8 across the board, however, we evolve alongside the inertia of the game, and would be unfair to concentrate on the differences at 22, Eddie is a freak but Trafford is a better shot stopper already, becoming extremely dominant aerially, over the last season and in frame….

We’ve got one of the many let go back, fingers crossed he mirrors those of the same pot, shining at the top level!

The BBC article regarding the signing, written by Red Shirt Shamoon, is a mess.

It claims the fee is both £27m and £31m, citing different sources. Then says City had matching rights so stepped in when Newcastle offered £27m.

Good luck to the lad. Got to admire the confidence and self belief that he'd find his way back. Sets us up nicely for the future if he continues to develop as we all hope.

Fantastic news!

The best young English goalkeeper has returned home, having spent two years learning his craft, including a year under City legend, Vinnie.

And a nett fee of £7 million is a bargain for a player of James' ability and potential.

Welcome back, James.
A bargain, and yet the bbc decided to up £27m to £31m so they could announce it as a record for a British keeper, typical bbc slant
