it's a bit far-fetched, but... imagine you end up shipwrecked on a desert island for ever more with no hope of rescue. everyone else died, you are alone. the cargo of the ship you sailed on was cheese and booze. the wreck is within reach, so you will have an endless supply of the two items...

Stumbled across this thread by accident.

I would start building myself a boat of some sort. Keep me occupied for weeks, then launch it and give it a go at finding civilisation.

Take some rudimentary fishing tackle along to try and catch food.

There is an abundance of fresh water from streams and food growing on the island, fruit etc.

Bear in mind if you took ill there's no doctor or dentist etc.

How would you amuse yourself, and do you think you would go mad?

Are there any animals on this island? You didn't state that, and it's important to know.

Its all very well saying you would top yourself. Well not immediately. I think when we got hungry, we would look for food. We have evolved to survive, we can't get away from that. The inability to cope after time, would increase the risk of suicide. But I doubt, not from the off. Would be grim knowing you would die there, without having seen, let alone fucked another human being.
