Interesting that Liverpool were in their pomp and had won multiple European cups earlier in the 80s, Anfield had a capacity of 52,000 around then, were they the empty terraces where they now call us for empty seats?

Everton showing as the 3rd best supported team 40 years ago.
But they were a very good side at that point in time.
They won the FA Cup in 1984, and then followed that up by winning the ECWC in 1985.
And they won the First Division in 1985 and 1987.

‘Disqualified’ is a wholly inappropriate choice of word to deploy there as it connotes culpability upon the affected clubs. Not quite sure what Oxford United did to warrant being ineligible to play in Europe.
