PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

And in respect, how many Man City fans bemoaned Chelsea’s takeover before Man City’s?

It’s nothing we don’t discuss as Newcastle United fans. The top 6 (you excluded) all dismiss the topic because it suits them to just tar every newcomer as moneymen and for some reason they think they earned their place at the top because it doesn’t matter if you were bankrolled in the 50’s,70’s, and 80’s as you can rewrite history.

The other clubs are just happy to existing. You think a Brighton fan gives a fuck when 20 years ago they had no stadium and were in the lower leagues? The irony being that their takeover made them as unreachable to those lower league teams as the top 6 are to them now. The likes of Crystal Palace etc are happy just being in the Premier League, even more so now they fluked their FA Cup win.

This maybe highly controversial, but every single club in the Premier League is waiting for the Americans to lock the Premier League.
The whole same clubs going up and down suits them. They have the money to keep a distance between themselves and safety, and once they are officially locked in and the Premier League is able to get a TV broadcast deal that rivals the NFL, we’ll see it so every club gets £400m per season regardless of how well they do. It will make a lot of the owners billionaires overnight.
The sad thing is, so long as your club is on the right side of the divide, most fans will secretly love it. Never going down, all the money in the world so they have great players, even if they don’t compete at the top of the league.
Most of the blues i know were chuffed when the Russian gangster took over Chelsea, it stopped the govan pisscan from dominating.

I welcomed Chelsea breaking the cartel first. Also, I had no problem them winning the CWC. Newcastle on the other hand, even though I think you are a decent poster on here, I have never forgiven for breaking a young lads heart in 1955. Now that may make me look like a bitter FOC but broken hearts take time to heal!
Seriously though I do hope you can put another wound in one of the red cartel teams. Bit of advice, don't take posters on here seriously;-)
Anyway tha Lions are restarting so must go. ;-)
You know what it is, pretty much most of you have all treated me with respect, and I remember your fans when our takeover was first rumoured, were the ones saying getting in and give us advice and to watch out for the media etc. I even put one of your YouTubers in contact with our then chairmen of the supporters club to discuss it all on his channel, this was all during Covid.
I came on here last year because I wanted to get a good idea of what was happening with PSR etc.
At the end of the day I’m not gullible enough to think I’ll find a bunch of Newcastle fans on a Man City forum, although I’ll call out bullshit like North Shields being a fairly even number in terms of support between us and the Mackems. I sit here laughing at that right now as I’m in North Shields ground for their FA Cup match where they are on yet another season of selling a black and white away shirt opposite me because how else do they expect anyone here to buy their stuff?
Coincidently, they are playing against Newcastle Blue star who also have a black & white shirt.

Anyway, I mean you’ll forgive our club for breaking your heart when you’ve broke ours plenty of times since, right?

You're not a wind up merchant and you talk sense, you're a lot better than some City fans on here!

For all the bad intentions of Liverpool and their employees, City on their side didn’t do their job in allowing a situation where the scouting data base software was accessed for nearly 8 months by Liverpool. If the ex employee was using his still activated Scout 7 credentials it should have been deactivated when they left the organisation, if they were using someone else’s known log in details these should have been changed every few months and would have stopped Liverpool from having access to City’s Scout 7 database for as long as they did.

The other side of it were there any disciplinary proceedings internally at Liverpool with Micheal Edwards and the two ex City employees? If I’d had done something similar in my work place and my employers had paid out a £1 million to stop it going to court, I would expect my feet wouldn’t touch the floor on gross misconduct.
They were using the log in of Rob Newman, who was still employed at City. City obviously assumed it was Rob using the system. It only became apparent when it was discovered that Rob couldn’t have logged in from certain locations as he was elsewhere at the time. Hence the investigation.

We were in the paddock along the side with the big concrete crush barriers and the home fans above us. I was stood on a crush barrier at the final whistle giving it to the Geordies and one of them threw a mars bar at me which I caught and ate.
Think it was just before Xmas weren't it, vague memory of being in boozer in Newcastle town centre and some woman had put Wham Last Christmas about 10 times

"...maybe those deals weren’t overvalued after all?”

This is a better, balanced piece from The Guardian and makes a welcome change to read facts and quotes from credible, independent sources -

https://www.theguardian.com/footbal...ity-record-kit-contract-puma-football-finance

Manchester City’s record £1bn deal with Puma and the value beyond bottom line
The 10-year contract is worth £1bn but it has also opened the door to increase the club’s global profile with other lucrative partnerships
www.theguardian.com

The kit sponsorship with Puma could prove an extremely useful justification in relation to City`s ongoing challenge against amended Premier League `rules`.

Points of note -

“Puma are very disciplined about what they will pay for sponsorship deals so will not have overpaid, or at least not by more than they had to. They are very rigorous.”

“This is a huge deal for City, in terms of what it says about the size of the club and their ability to attract independent sponsors...”

As well as supporting City`s case it could could also lead the way to other lucrative long term partnerships and value for money contracts.
Puma aren't an associated party

Think ur memory is hazy , it was a reduced allocation as they was building the new main stand , think there was more like 1000 from what I remember , the last time I have ever see only 300 at an away game was last game of the season at boro probably around 1988 ,
You might be right on numbers but i just remember numbers not being great, it was a time when a lot of stadia were moving to all seater from memory, think it was a few weeks earlier we got a reduced allocation at the swamp when the cunts beat us 5 nowt

You have hit the nail on the head "Why would I give a fuck to learn about PSR''

That is exactly what the American cartel want. The cartel want to take control of the pl one club at a time.
Other fans couldn't give a shit about it as they blindly believe it doesn't effect them.

Then their club gets taken over by someone the American cartel doesn't like, within in days illegal rules are brought in to stop them spending on players.

These fans then start moaning about the cartel. Of course this is going to be abit annoying to City fans as we have been saying this for over 10 years

I was on another forum and this Newcastle fan hated City's dirty oil money. I told him that when you taken over the cartel would be after them. He didn't believe me just kept calling my club cheats and worst.
I got banned from that site and the forum closed sometime later. I would if he has changed his views ?

Football in this country is on a knife edge and fans need to wake up. The American cartel are a real threat to our game. They are racist 100% the press/media are also a threat by supporting this racist cartel. The press/ media won't report on say dippers shirt sponsor being fine 3 times now and fined 1 2 billion for money laundering. Yet etihad want to increase investment in City, oh no can't do that.

Other fans are sleep walking into a cartel run American sport.
I could have wrote that myself Gordon, the amount of arguments I had 10 or so years ago with none top 4 teams who were mediocre/struggling/treading water etc….telling them that the rules would mean any rich owner taking them over would find the drawbridge pulled up,the worst teams fans if I recall were Everton/Villa/Newcastle/leeds…hey presto…look what’s happened to ESPECIALLY Villa,Newcastle…massive rich new owners who are now basically hamstrung or more to the point FUCKED,the fans back then weren’t thinking/playing the LONG game….We warned them…..but no,they just went along with the sky 4 fans(we know who they are)who to be fair were just wanting to keep the status quo…sky 4 fans bleating…dirty oil club etc etc…..but why the OTHER fans clubs jumped on board I have no fucking clue…maybe just jealous or envious.
Hey I remember when the guy at Middlesbrough Gibson I think, decided to roll the dice on Juninho/Ravilnelli/Emerson/gazza/merson/Mendieta etc back in the day,City were absolutely shite….yes I was jealous/envious of Boro, but I really enjoyed watching that team,I wasn’t slagging them for spending all the cash…just because our owner at the time wasn’t,just glad there was a different team other than the usual suspects prepared to have a go….same with Keegans toon side, they were virtually my second team the one with Beardsley/ferdinand/ginola/lee etc etc lol………city were back then (pre takeover)a SLEEPING GIANT who through no fault of their fans had been run so so poorly, yes we hit the JACKPOT in sept 2008,without that investment we’d probably still be a middling prem team….one fan of a big club back then was my next door neighbour,we had constant arguments about all the above…told him his team COULD be affected in the future, what if you got lucky like city with some heavy duty investment, but no…just chose to argue with me…………his team was,and they are a huge club with decent history, had an excellent side in the 90s….SHEFFIELD WEDNESDAY,I’ll laugh my bollocks off if they got took over by some billionaire benefactor who just wanted to INVEST INVEST INVEST and bring them back to the big time, not seen the **** I argued with for years…but I’d find him and say….was I right?,you’ve now got billions upon billions, can’t spend it though HAHAHA HAHAHAHA.

Not too sure about that but what will change things is the hotel. As far as I know it’s 100% City, not CFG. MASSIVE(!) potential income. A combined Etihad Airways flight, hotel stay, and corporate style match ticket will bring rich bastards from all over the world. Bloody tourists coming over here and spending shitloads on City, dammit.
Oh, and if we are ever under PSR pressure we can sell it to CFG for £500m.
Not only for City, but people staying over for gigs at the Arena during the season and close season . Also convenient for staying over for visiting Manchester in general , it's only a short tram journey to town.

I was there ,reduced allocation ,and the midweek b4 Xmas!
Dibble was amazing that night ,stopped everything then for once we stole it on the break 2-0 !
