F1 2025 Season

Nip and tuck between the Macca boys in practice. Could be a fun qualifying this.

Red bull might struggle to get into Q3 on this pace.

They all need to stop spaffing gravel all over the track as well. Replace those gravel traps with Bond baddie style shark infested tanks I say. Watch them magically stay on track then.

What happened with McLaren in Q3 there? Wow. Both drivers being slow in Q3 is a surprise, have to look to the team for that.

Fair play Charles lad, hard not to be happy for him.

Wasn't he being touted as a possible outside bet for the Championship this year? His best days are fast becoming a distant memory now.

Lewis has always worn his heart on his sleeve. Despite his long career he's always rejected the media training and been very honest.

It's been a tough year in adapting to the car for sure but he's way too hard on himself. Lewis needs to write this year off and focus entirely on the 26 car which will probably suit him more.

It's no coincidence that Lewis' results fell off a cliff in 2022 coinciding with these regulations. Yes Mercedes fucked up in epic style with the whole 'no side pods' aero development disaster and spent about two years undoing it, but this regulation just doesn't suit Hamilton at all.

Yes I reckon age is playing a part - it comes for us all - but it's not the reason why he's underperformed so drastically since 2021. He didn't go from championship winner to 'past it' overnight. These things are not that simple.

I honestly can't see him winning another title. Does he have the hunger any more? Also, does he need the gruelling fitness regime that F1 drivers need to go through on a continuing basis (almost daily, I'd imagine)? Let's be honest, he's got more money than he'll ever be able to spend. If he wants to stay involved in the sport, maybe get involved in running a team?

He was very lucky to have the best car for seven years and no rivals to challenge him.

Compare that to Alonso who at 44 managed to get that shitheap of an Aston Martin on the third row.
Hamilton needs to stop whinging, buck up and start performing. It's not like the car isn't good enough.

He probably won't - the mantle has been passed. But equally I can't see Leclerc winning one either, Ferrari are the rags of F1 in terms of illogical expectations and living on past glories.

Money doesn't come into it for Lewis IMO, but yes I can see him running a team or even going into a very senior role in the FIA in the future.

He's got nothing he needs to prove on track - though I still maintain all things being equal in terms of car development in regulations, he'd still whoop Leclerc's arse.

You've got to remember this is Leclerc's team and they've been evolving this car since 2021 to his preference, which is a very different style to Hamilton.

Also compare to Alonso who’s got two championships to his name and has bounced around midfield and back of the grid teams for 10 years making enemies everywhere goes.

I know whose shoes I’d rather be in.

Alonso had raw pace in spades - and still does in flashes - but he’s got zero team player skills and ultimately is a pretty massive **** but without the generational talent of a Schumacher to be able to get away with it.

Which is why when the “Alonso should’ve won more” trope gets rolled out I think it’s a load of old bollocks. He deserves to have won exactly what he’s won. Which is a lot - but if he’d been smarter and more collaborative, it would’ve been a lot more.

Fernando Alonso with a brilliant qualifying effort, compared to the dismal effort at Spa last weekend, also, gorgeous George up there, could be a belter of a race tmoro
Russell is the most underrated driver on the grid imo.

How every team up and down the paddock aren’t fighting over his signature given the current situation is utterly mental.

The way he’s grown into leading the team and getting the results he has out of that cast post-Lewis is fucking sensational. Generational talent level stuff.

If you’re a Zak Brown or a whoever the Ferrari sporting director is, you’ve got to be looking at this situation and having a word surely.

I wasn't doing a comparison between the two drivers, as it's pointless when people do that. Different eras, different engines, different regs. I'm merely pointing out that i'm not impressed with his whining from a seven-time world champion to go down the self-pity route.

There's nothing wrong with his car, and his 'throwing toys out of the pram' type comments do nothing for me. If he's really considering himself "useless", quit.

Just tuned into to hear 'Crofty' with his usual insightful comments.

'Lando Norris has come to Hungary saying he wants to win the race'

'Charles Leclerc has said he wants to keep the McLaren's behind him in the race'

I had to mute it last week. He really is dreadful

When Murray did it he was charming. When Croft does it he sounds like a genuine idiot.

He also sounds like he'd rather be anywhere else today, judging by his coverage of the race start.

That was an improvement over him constantly shouting like a moron. Hopefully he's been asked to tone it down until the appropriate moments.

I was quite young when Murray was commentating so wonder how I'd find him now.

His love of the sport was almost unmatched though. Someone I know saw him in a coffee shop sitting with his wife and he said Murray was even chatting F1 to her. Nodding along to what he was saying lol.
