PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

You know what it is, pretty much most of you have all treated me with respect, and I remember your fans when our takeover was first rumoured, were the ones saying getting in and give us advice and to watch out for the media etc. I even put one of your YouTubers in contact with our then chairmen of the supporters club to discuss it all on his channel, this was all during Covid.
I came on here last year because I wanted to get a good idea of what was happening with PSR etc.
At the end of the day I’m not gullible enough to think I’ll find a bunch of Newcastle fans on a Man City forum, although I’ll call out bullshit like North Shields being a fairly even number in terms of support between us and the Mackems. I sit here laughing at that right now as I’m in North Shields ground for their FA Cup match where they are on yet another season of selling a black and white away shirt opposite me because how else do they expect anyone here to buy their stuff?
Coincidently, they are playing against Newcastle Blue star who also have a black & white shirt.

Anyway, I mean you’ll forgive our club for breaking your heart when you’ve broke ours plenty of times since, right?
The first cut is the deepest.
P P Arnold I think quoted it;-)

I’m sorry like, but that’s pure fucking horseshit.
I live in North Shields, my mam and my stepdad are from North Shields, they both grew up on what later became the notorious Meadowell estate.
North Shields has never ever in its entire history been a mixed area for our supporters.
North of the Tyne as I have said in a previous post is full Newcastle United. The vast majority of South Tyneside is Newcastle United, except for a small area that includes Boldon, and Whitburn which are right next to Sunderland, even then they both still have significant Newcastle United fans.
South Shields is probably about 40/40 with 20 floating.
Washington despite being under control of Sunderland council is about 50/50 due to how historically it was easier to get a bus from Washington to Newcastle, then it was to get one to Sunderland. A lot of Washington is actually closer to Tyneside than it is to Sunderland, and it’s a new town, so filled with Tyneside overspill.

Areas of Durham has always seen significant Newcastle fans, fun fact, Sir Bobby Robson was from Durham. Chester-Le-Street is actually exactly the same distance between Newcastle, Sunderland, and Durham, though it is significantly faster to travel to Newcastle and Durham from it. It also has a railway line taking you directly to Newcastle and Durham.
Northern Durham areas like Stanley is actually on the Tyne valley, you actually get a pretty good picture SJP from areas such as Burnopfield.
Sunderland fans like to say that Durham was always 100% red & white, and call the Newcastle United fans who live there 92’s because according to them they never supported us until the Premier League came about in 1992, the irony is that Newcastle United were not in the Premier League in it’s formative year.
Love Durham and parts of the NE and must visit again soon

Not only for City, but people staying over for gigs at the Arena during the season and close season . Also convenient for staying over for visiting Manchester in general , it's only a short tram journey to town.
Yeah but an hour and half's wait for one to come.

For the life of me i can't even begin to understand why we agreed a settlement, weird as fuck
My suspicion is that we were strong armed by the Pl to not cause an issue for the good of the brand. And at the time, we were probably naive enough to agree to their sentiment, city’s owners have always wanted to co exist with the PL and the other clubs, sadly it’s always been a one way thing.

We’ll never know for sure, but I imagine it’s been absolutely astoundingly eye opening for our owners just how big a set of cunts we’re dealing with

If things have gone as we like to think, I imagine the panel must have had some absolutely eye-opening, head-scratching moments. It must have been hard to look at behaviour and adherence to law VS status as the world's leading domestic football league.

That’s been my personal opinion for a long time, that’s why I can’t believe the clubs none aggression policy, it appears the club prefers the lie down and be walked over policy.
They play the long game, cleverer than the cartel with the money and the influence to do so Look at the way they have taken on the PL with their APT rules they will not waste time and money suing a few no marks who call them cheats and make spurious allegations, what would it achieve as there would be more after that, its not a battle to win
They are not lying down and being walked over far from that

Do you think that perhaps at the time we were not as far advanced in the investment phases and associated business plan as later?
By that I mean we saw Etihad grow almost exponentially and then the financial results that said BP promised became a reality.

I am sure our owners with Mr K in charge have dealt with far more evil people than the hubris driven PL decision makers. Maybe the decision to go to war was made when City were strongest not when the PL tested our strength.

They were using the log in of Rob Newman, who was still employed at City. City obviously assumed it was Rob using the system. It only became apparent when it was discovered that Rob couldn’t have logged in from certain locations as he was elsewhere at the time. Hence the investigation.

The club should have reported it to the police as its a crime under the Computer Misuse Act 1990, which would lead to a prison sentence for the perpetrators. IMHO I think they decided not to do so as those involved would have been well known by the club and probably still had friends at City so, they made the deal with LFC and an NDA Not accepting liability but, paying £1M is a contradiction

Dont think either the PL or FA were involved it was a mater that the clubs kept between themselves as I said above I dont think the club wanted to see former employees in jail as what they did is a criminal offense

More likely we didn’t want our pants pulled down by the ICO

I can also except your point of view, as a fan of our great club I detest all the innuendo being thrown at our feet.

Dont get me wrong so do I but in reality the media are very clever as to how far they go and ultimately if they overs top the mark an apology hidden away is the outcome As to the no marks on social media in general that a horse already bolted

Initially but then everyone knew and they investigate and said too long ago
