Media discussion - 2025/26

Simon Stone has give up:

"This is Manchester United, so there were some commercial appearances, but they have reduced from previous tours."

This is manchesyoonitd.

Fucking hell. The BBC football page has reached new lows and it was already six feet under.

Second rag article today from Slimy Stone on the BBC website.

That makes 31out of his last 32 articles THE CHIEF FOOTBALL CORRESPONDENT for the BBC has written articles solely about the rags
Would you believe that most Rags (those who can actually read that is) believe that Slimy hates them and loves writing negative articles about them?
They really do expect Pravda type coverage from the media.

He is.

And you're right, it's clearly a broad selection of fans, it's comforting to know we're not alone.

Stone is such an odious Uriah Heep like toady.
The BBC is happy to alienate the vast majority of its potential core audience to chase clickbait from overseas United fans. It is the total opposite of what a public service broadcaster should be doing. There are hundreds of fan channels already filling the space that Stone is in.

What a horrible article below, basically trying to imply that Pep and Klopp were equals and that Klopp's right hand man has come to save us

FFS an article with the headline

"Why Guardiola's new number two could be Man City's biggest summer signing"

is a horrible article?
I can't even see why it implies what you suggest!
What it SAYS though is far more important and a positive. It says that after a poor season Pep is adapting and changing the style of our play, after reading it I was far more optimistic about the upcoming season.

I read the comments and for the first time broke the house rules. All I said after 12 ish comments in was - " I wonder how long it would be before the first plonker mentioned the 115"! got an email saying I broke the house rules yet they allow fans to call us cheats -currently unproven!
What an organisation!

I made a similar comment that still remains so I don't know what happened with yours.
Anyway I was discussing the article not the wider organisation.

Just read that article and came here to post similar. Overall, I don’t think it’s too bad of a piece, but the desperation in trying to equate Klopp with Pep is too obvious to ignore.

Loads of blues there as normal at Stoke, felt like the start of something good but I think Francis was gone within 12 months?
Was there also ....re Francis hes still bitter around a lot of false promises he claims where made to him by the board , hence he cant hide his bias against us whenever hes on a panel discussing us

I'd prefer it if there were hundreds of tons of concrete filling the space Stone and his rag-clickbait generating BBC colleagues at Media City were in.

Utd`s dream hits the buffers - chasm in funding

Talk is cheap. It is a characteristic out of town in Old Trafford.

Last week Ducker in The Telegraph was again using his privileged position to promote utd`d stadium dreams. This week he is quieter. Why has he not provided readers with an update on the reality of the situation rather than plying PR guff?

The principal beneficiaries of a new stadium, namely the Glazers, will not pay, and Ratcliffe will not pay. They are absent billionaire owners in the USA and Monaco. Yet they expect public funding to move a significant asset in Old Trafford out of Greater Manchester to Merseyside.

The club does not have the necessary land for their ideas and has just sacked half the staff but this private enterprise wants the public purse to sweeten their aspirations. There are no plans currently, just talk and a PR campaign, fronted by Coe and his new bestie mate, the GM Mayor.

The present situation is that Freightliner, who utd are pressurising to move their huge operation, have valued their land at £400m. but utd. want it on the cheap.

Last week Coe was in the USA with a begging bowl to see if anyone else will stump up for their stadium. Before that they were trying it on at MIPIM but potential investors can see through it.

It is time that the stadium charade was exposed.

Regenerate the locality and beyond but let the very rich owners of the football club pay their way.

Levy Deflects Scrutiny by using City

This is an article about Levy and Spurs. Apparently it is a rare interview. Neville was the interviewer ! Yet, editorially, someone has purposely decided on a completely misleading headline and made it about City with accompanying photo.

It is little wonder that so many Spurs fans are tired of Levy and his antics. The ultimate purpose of a football club is to achieve success and trophies. They are not fooled by an unconvincing, albeit very welcome, europa victory against the worst utd, side since 1974.

Levy`s stadium and a real ale brewery are great as is the training facility but are they leading to improvements on the pitch?

Clearly Levy`s style is to try and distract attention from his ongoing failings in bringing real and sustained football success.

“I think it would be really unfair of me to talk about another club in the Premier League" and then he deliberately proceeded to do so in an attempt to take the spotlight off him, probably egged on by Neville.

That summed the man up. Slippery and snidey and no shiny stadium can disguise that.

You beat me to it.

One league title the toothy German oddball won in 8 years

Appalling article
