Probably the same companies..I've jumped early on ours. Not even going to wait for the renewal quote to come through from Admiral. Saw one of Martin Lewis's emails that said check now even though you may not be up for renewal...
Was paying £75pm with a £300 total excess. New quote from Aviva with all the bells and whistles and £100 total excess is £39pm.
Gonna let the old policy run it's course as there's only a month left so it'll mean doubling up for a month but I didn't want to risk not getting that quote in a month's time.
That's very high. You don't come across as some 16 year old chavvy boy racer in a souped up xr2i. If you don't mind me asking, what are you driving? And do you have a history of claims, and/or convictions?Grand last year, grand this year. Is what it is.
It's not actually illegal as such. However, if you try to make a claim neither insurance company will pay out as they will say you were insured with the other party and they could both pursue you for insurance fraud. I'm surprised you were even able to obtain a 2nd insurance as the Motor Insurance Database should have flagged up your vehicleIs it?
I thought it was only if I tried to claim on both? (Which I won't). If it was any longer than a month I'd cancel the original one but if it's illegal then I will cancel straight away
Aviva and Admiral not part of the same company. I have worked for both. However, in the car insurance market, there are actually only about 8 companies. Most of them are subsidiariesProbably the same companies..

Ah; right. That figures. It's for more than one vehicle. All due at the same time.

Mine was around €370 fully comp last february. 2021 Hyundai Tucson, ordinary diesel model, not electric or hybrid.Still a piss take. Max no claims etc etc.
My mates lad passed last year. Nearly fell over when he told me what they were charging. Dreading the day mine passes

Let's be honest, insurance is a rip off. But you have to have it. I reckon my premium is too much (doesn't everyone, though), but other insurers were looking for around €700-800.See that is more like it. I missed the boat on proper multi car policies. My old man paid next to nothing for the ones he had. Think I get about 40 quid discount on each one, better than a smack in the mouth but still a piss take. Can only drive one at a time and nobody is braking in to take them. Nice car by the way, I love the Tuscon, a very nice drive
Always the way for new / young male drivers as statistically they are high risk. 30 years ago I was paying £600 for 3rd party only - no fire and theft cover on a Mazda 323 worth about 200 quid.Still a piss take. Max no claims etc etc.

You insure the car and have him as named driver. did this with my kid and 5 years later she had a ncd.Still a piss take. Max no claims etc etc.

Insurance bastardsHastings £386 last year, renewal wanted £709!
I’ve gone elsewhere £366, but rang today to ensure auto renew was cancelled and they can suddenly do £345.
No thanks, robbing fuckers
