Sheffield Wednesday on the brink… | Enter administration (p30)

I've mentioned it before, but for the Champions League final I was in Sidari on Corfu. I watched the game with a family of Wednesday fans. They were super supportive of us and very knowledgeable re events around 115. I'm hoping for their sake this shit storm soon gets sorted.
I watched the Aguerooooooooo QPR match with a Wednesday supporters and a Middlesbrough supporter. They were both great and celebrated as much as I did.

Of course, piss taking about Barry Bannan aside, I do like Wednesday and hope it gets sorted for them.

I think an interesting week lies ahead, not just around what team we can put out on Sunday but things gaooening off the pitch too.

Hopefully like Bannan signing back on we can get some more good news this week, rather than hourly bad news.

I hope so, my mates son has recently signed for you .... Denny Oliver, he might even make the bench at the weekend.

Thanks m8

It's pretty exhausting at the minute, and as always you just know it will get worse before (if it does) get any better.

For me the worst thing is the silence from the club, nobody has a clue what is going on.
sorry to hear this pal, it's such a shame when any club is mismanaged - owners forget they are custodians - will you start the season do you reckon? I must get up to Hillsborough for a game

I'm not sure m8 to be honest.

The players have released the following statement today, our fans think the last paragraph is alluding to the fact striking for the first game is still on the table:

If the players are not being paid then they are right not to play. If they get injured during such matches they run the risk of not getting a new club if Wednesday (God forbid) fold.
Where are the League officials when situations like this arise? FFP my arse.
Prik Parry nowhere to be seen shocker!

Awful truly awful

It doesn't matter if you get 100,000 through the door or 2000. To those 2000 their club means everything, like City does to you guys, and like Wednesday does to me

I hope there is a phoenix club for them to support.
There will be, always seems to be the case that fans wont let the club die.

I think Selkirk in Scotland is one of the few that didn't rise again.

Times up - Morecambe have just gone

And the powers that be just sat back and let it happen ffs .............how many years in fact decades of these owners coming in either busting or nearly busting and the powers let it happen time and time again :(

How many clubs over the last 25 years have gone under compared to the previous 25 ????

Thats the "powers that be" who allow these people to take ownership after they pass their Fit and Proper Person Test.

Needs to be a licensing system where a license is granted and the licensor has to post a bond equally to the full payroll for an entire season to be reviewed each year Then a strike system that suspends the license if say three payrolls are late the license comes up for sale the bond is used to cover the payroll until the license is sold This would guarantee a club a year to survive whilst the owner can sell
Stadiums should be covered by legislation that prevents the land being used other than football to prevent greedy developers
Just an idea and needs more thought of course but for sure the current situation is not acceptable with the fit and proper persons test being just a simple check of criminal records for fraud and misappropriation

Far too sensible an idea

Don't be ridiculous. It's the owners who are pumping money into the game and surrounding cities who need to be watched.

Fooking laughable isnt it ......... clubs on the brink and yet the media are obsessed with 115 ............one of the grandest oldest clubs on the brink there should be mass outrage in the media ..........bu yet you will the odd column here and there.
The affect on thousands of there fans must be shocking so where are the EFL to sort this mess out ?????

No place for a sensible post.....

If only Parry actually earned his money and had this sort of thought process.
