And who is going to cover the wages? Why would grealish accept a pay decrease?

We are stuck with him and it will be a loan
Grealish needs to realise he's almost 30 and few clubs are interested in him. He also needs to realise that he needs regular football for any chance of breaking into the England squad again.

All depends whether Jack is prepared to put football before cash I suppose.

It’s mad, because watching him in training yesterday he was sharp in everything he did. Until he got a chance to shoot in the small sided games and he ended up passing backwards after failing to create space. It was like a microcosm of everything we’d watched since he joined.

Sharp in build up, passing, pressing and then blunt when it came down to getting a goal or assist.

And I love the bloke, think he adds a lot, but now Kev has gone we need the team to pull in with goals and not solely rely on Haaland who can then just be marked out the game. And Grealish isn’t going to give us goals unfortunately. I guess a change is just needed.

They are willing to pay over 70m for Tyler Dibling and Kieren Dewsbury Hall, but Jack Grealish they want on loan. Ok.

Be delighted if we sign him. Be technically many levels above anything we have apart from Ndiaye. A very expensive deal for 1 year (talk of £10m)

Hope if it does happen, with it being a WC year he has the hunger to play well and make the squad.

Everton want to take the piss but we should tell them to pay up or fuck off.

Not sure its taking the piss, he is on around £300k a week isnt he? He's not going to take a wage cut so no way we, or 90% of the rest of the PL can afford to buy him.

Everton are a owt for nowt club pal, always got your begging bowl out when trying to get players cheap or on loan.

Not forgotten how Everton made us pay full whack for several of your players. We should play hardball with you for any of our players you want.

In not so many words, yes they are in a position to buy the player outright. A solid proven player, at I doubt an unreasonable fee, around the amounts they seem willing to pay out elsewhere.

I dont think its the fee as much as the huge wages over 4 years if he were to sign permanently. Dibling must be on about £20k. We have only just come out of the 3 year FFP cycle so would be too much of a risk.

Understandable why you would be wanting to not take a hit though. Think this may be a waiting game for both sides. Understandable why you would play hardball. You will be waiting to see if someone will buy. We will be waiting to see if he becomes more affordable towards the end of the window if nobody comes for him.

only way to make this work is them paying 50% of his salary and hand over 7.5m fee as loan fee. which covers another half for us.
btw I dont think we even get that offer. we will end up paying part of his salary if its a loan.
even if he is sold we need to use some of the fee we get to pay his contract off or at least the salary difference between current offer (24 months left of it) and his next salary.

what is a good thing that Viana has to deal and not Txiki with this, and will make him really aware next time we want to hand out this kind of fee/salary.

He has an option for Turkey turned it down, he has his new house family so must not want to move away for game time! It’s why Everton will be the place he goes and probably costing city half his wages

I'm in Turkey at the moment. I wouldn't move here for all the money in the world. Probably why players that come from the Prem only last a season.
