The irony of what?

You don't think that in a few years time, the young kids around 5-11 years of age now that wear city shirts, a lot of them, the glory hunters too, won't become just like a large part of the united and liverpool fanbases?

Do you think that City will be immune to that? It won't get any bellends?

Well that's true. There's kids all over the world wearing city shirts all over the world. Of course we are gathering a large section of glory hunters. I don't mind it though, that comes with success.

It'll come with content creators realising they can make money cashing in off city , so we'll probably end up with a Mark Goldbridge type bellend at some point, catering to glory hunters online.

Anyway, many city fans on this forum are incapable of having a logical or honest conversation. They're just hell bent on showing others they're the biggest and baddest city fan, especially if when it comes to talking to an opposing fan. Basically like 12 year olds

I think you are into something re the lack of objectivity and city bias on this forum. With the mods being rags you'd have thought they would at least try to impart some balance, but sadly not - most of the posters on here seem to be city fans.

How are they routinely able to get massive overs for bog standard players?

There's something very fishy going on.

Well of course there's a lack of objectivity, that's normal wit fans but even so, that doesn't mean people shouldn't remain somewhat logical in certain conversations rather than act 12 and try to prove they're the most incredible fan

100% with you on that mate. In all my years supporting Liverpool then utd I never noticed the equivalent to the 'bertie bluenose from Stockport' type that seems to follow city. Obviously the success has brought new fans like us, but some of these types still remain to this day - obsessed with the width of their pitch and height of their floodlights etc.

They used to accuse us of exactly the same, and still do.

I have little interest in them, who they buy, and what they say. I watched SSN yesterday and I may as well have been watching LFCTV or MUTV. So much justification for Liverpool's buying blitz and why players still wish to go to OT.

I concentrate on us and what we do and who we sign.

A lot of these kids are grown up now, we’ve been englands most successful club for over a decade now. The reality is who would they have supported if not City who’s support is gaining, others are losing.

Before City were successful, I used to like Liverpool as the enemy of my enemy but I have grown to dislike Liverpool's fanbase because of the incessant online vitriol from Liverpool fans towards MCFC. I appreciate from your own comments that this is not universal.
This is just my own feeling -

I know personally, that in the last decade or so (8-9 years), in 36 out 38 games in the league, I've felt we play our best and we 'll more than likely win. Not expect to win but confident.

There are 2 games against Man City which I love but also f*cking hate! Both sides could be playing fabulous but for a 5-15 minute period one of the two could go to another level! Bang it is over. Feels like we have been playing for 120 minutes when we are in the lead and I look at the clock there is 30 minutes or so left?! how!?

How does one deal with all that anxiety? That wanting to be sick before a ball is kicked? That intensity?

I am without doubt like a bear with a sore head. I'll drink a few lagers. "Bastard fkin cheating ref! never a fkin foul!" "haha fk off guardiola ya twat!" have been known to leave my mouth! It is a release. A healthy respect for how good the opposition is. It is so sweet if we win but hurts if we lose. A draw? f*ck me! that helps no one!

My belief is that a lot of people, especially younger ones, don't know how to deal with the feelings. They don't understand that you can have a rivalry without 'hate'.

Please don't tell me you think he does that all on his own and not scripted just like his nonsense paper column
I am sure he had an input and it was more in his comfort zone. He sounded at ease with what he was doing. A bit like ratboy. They now just talk bollocks the majority of the time.
Newspaper columns I have no idea as I don't read those. I'd imagine those are written by someone else. That is just a wild guess though.

Overnight? Am I in a Tom Hanks movie? haha
The kids that are 5-11 years of age now. They can't have grown up already!
edit.
To give you some reasoning. Chelsea won a champions league, europa league and two premier leagues. In a 5 year period? Think they won a bit before that also.
'The scums' part time 'glory hunter' fans were still around and kitting out their offspring.

City got an influx wit the takeover but that will pale into insignificance over the next few years. The 5-11 year old that I speak of now, will be 15-21 in 10 years. IF the success continues and that could be, a trophy here and there, doesn't have to be to the same standard of Guardiola's reign, City will likely get more than their fair share of the next generation!
Don't forget I am only discussing bellends and glory hunters.
Not the ones who view a football club as more than just a thing to put on their social media account. We are not talking about people were football is a religion.

If they manage to offload Nunez for £50m and somehow get Isak, they've played a blinder.
Nunez was very good the season before last. He lacks composure at times. He is far too good to be going to Saudi.
I think he has hit the woodwork about 15 times in the league alone! Yep he's missed quite a few 'sitters' but then he's scored some outrageous goals.
In this market £50m might prove to be a snip for a European club. The language barrier moving to Saudi Arabia may well be an issue too.

Why would the language barrier be an issue?

The majority of the Al-Hial team speak English and English is the second most spoken language in Saudi Arabia after Arabic. I'm sure they'll be plenty of Spain speaking people as well

Fair, but let's face it - you won't exactly be gutted to see him go.

He doesn't appear to speak great english.

At this moment I certainly won't be happy to see him go. I'd much rather we keep him. My thoughts though are based on when he was playing under Klopp, probably the more controlled style of play, is not to his strengths.
I said in a much earlier post that he is my favourite player to watch. I love players who 'wear their heart on their sleeve'. I loved Sadio Mane's attitude to the game.
Gutted is a strong emotional word. Might be able to use that for when Fowler went to Leeds and when Roy Evans left.

Just to but in I think the majority of new fans on here have a totally different outlook to the older fans.
There is always going to be clashes when new fan has a hissy fit because haaland didn’t score a hat trick or we won but played awful.
The new breed of city fan from the last 10 years is used to winning everything so they will become entitled thinking that losing a game or not winning the league is a disaster but older fans who have seen us in every division bar one have a more chilled outlook and are more grounded with not winning anything hence you get the clashes on here.
Some are wums and support other teams, those bellends stick out like a sore thumb and are easy to spot but these new city fans fuck me, pain in the arse if I'm being honest and they'll be off like a shot if we have a few years in the wilderness which will happen because football goes in cycles.

And 3..2...1..and you're back in the room.

Then when you win something or look like winning they will pop up again on social media and help to make the fanbase look total arses!
IF Wrexham, for example, dominated for the next 20 years. they'd have the same problem within 15-30 years.
