Baleba

The club must do like Real Madrid, get ahead of the game, contact the player who has two or three years left on his contract and ask him not to extend his contract because we'll come looking for him in a year, and if his club is very greedy, we'll come back the following summer, guaranteeing him that he'll be our player with a good salary and a good signing bonus, even if his club sanctions him and doesn't play him much. That's what Real Madrid did with Trent, and apparently that's what they're doing with Konaté and Saliba. We must stop paying exorbitant prices of over $100 million for players who aren't yet world-class.

120. and maybe I explained it wrong. Most players go for a similar price between 60-80 so why wouldn’t a big CM talent like Baleba not be worth 100M? Especially with that skillset. There‘s no many out there like him. In fact I don’t even know any beside him and Caicedo.
If you think “most players go for between 60-80m” I’m going to leave you to it.

Weirdly next summer I could see this. At the very least Bernardo and Gundo will go as out of contract, and you could see Kovacic and Nico G maybe not being here by then either.

If the rags or similar dont buy him now and we miss out?

Yeah this assumes nothing happens with it this summer, with Utd or anyone else. Reasonable assumption given price and how long is left in the window.

is the clubs name being used to bump up the price or get a new contract for the player ....usually stuff like this is just that...or a chance that if utd did get him then the media can add in that the y beat city to the player when infact we wre never in for him in the first place .

When did we last do that ?

Can you remind me exactly who these players were, they seemed to have slipped my mind.
Please excuse my English. I'm French-speaking, and I use a translation app to participate in the forum here.
I'm speaking in general: any player with great potential is valued at €100 million, and more, especially when an English club comes along. I know Grealish was paid €117 million. When the club was interested in Paqueta, West Ham also wanted €100 million. And according to the very reliable French daily newspaper L'Equipe, City inquired about Baleba this summer, and Brighton have announced that he costs €120 million.

The hype around this lad is weird. Seen so many people talk about this guy like he's a Patrick Vieira regen. Someone please tell me what the fuck this guy has achieved to be worth double what a guy like Reijnders cost, who has proven himself in multiple Leagues, Europe and International level.

The Premier League prices are absolutely insane. Cunha and Mbuemo aswell. Absolute 10 a penny these lads there's loads playing in France, Portugal and South America, seems nobody can be arsed scouting anymore. United literally looked at the players with the most G+A in the league outside the top 6 and paid the daft asking price they were quoted.

Absolutely no way to run a football club and I'm going to love watching it crash and burn. Even this Sesko I'm convinced they bought him because he was crazy good on Football Manager and FIFA over the past few years.
