I'll make it quite clear from the off, I know very little about this emerging technology. It just strikes me that we are galloping toward the full uptake of it in all walks of life and we possibly haven't instilled the correct kill switches. Or ingrained the correct protocols in the 'DNA' of all these systems. Possibly the capitalism induced race to crack it, is keeping us from making it safe?

Then I saw this.... Gulp !!!!!! What can be done. Are our politicians independent enough to put their foot down? We know they are bought... but will they act in mankind's interest?

AI used in the right hands is a marvellous thing and would benefit everybody, however it wont always be in the right hands and it's going to help finish mankind off sooner than we had already thought possible.
Yes, I guess my problem is when the system is, it's potentially not an issue of "the right hands" ..If the system plays out to it's natural conclusion, it will be 'in the hands' of itself. We often hear about the horror of an unstoppable asteroid wiping us out, but what if, us handing all controll to a AI systems is actually the next end of days. We also hear about aliens arriving and taking over, what if they already have, but don't take physical form and instead are AI. All a bit Phillip K Dick I know, but we have been warned time and time again!

It’s totally taken over social media, pictures, videos , comments , AI + bots all with an agenda.

personally I have no interest on the social media, pictures, video side but I can recognise the potential downside impact.

I use a number of AI tools from a professional perspective, especially in a commercial and business development. About 3-6 months ago the amount of hallucination from tools such as ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity made them difficult to justify using. They just made errors, made things up etc.

The advances in the past 6 months is impressive. I'm using/building AI agents that can do detailed company research in 10 minutes, with 95% accurate results and outcomes. Material that could have historically taken me days to research and analyse, generate outcomes/proposals that can now be in minutes.

This will either increase productivity or gives companies/shareholders a reason to reduce costs eg less people need to be employed. I'm in the later stages of my working career, but if I was a 30 something professional (eg not a trade such as a builder, plumber, joiner) I'd be seeing how I can really differentiate my skills.

I've been in technology industry for 35+ years, seen the rise of the PC, the internet, social media etc but these AI tools could warp change in the commercial world in the next 2-5 years. Who knows......

IMO its going to make the internet worthless. Nothing can be believed, we're living in a post-real age.

Last week I produced a set of lyrics, the music to go with it, a video for it all using AI programs, free ones even!

The only reality in future will be real life.

Hopefully it goes this way and kills itself, more people give up with it all and go out in the real world again for there excitement.

There is hope yet.

That's proof that AI is indeed as stupid as some humans on the planet.
To be fair...it only agrees there is a god on the terms Alex sets up. There's one vid (I can't find it right now) where he gets two of them to chat to each other...they start using code!

To be fair mate every religious drone agrees to religion on the terms that religion premises so it pretty much is as vacant as the adherents to any religion or cult.

But an interesting vid.

The terms are "if something can't come from nothing" and the 'first cause'...etc..

Can't you just see a contrary religious idealogue coughing up that sentence trying to prove a nonsense?

People get confused with faith here which is a perfectly reasonable belief if you scrape the surface, but religion is based on my god is the one and yours is false.

Nah...there is no valid reason to believe in any god. AI will become god, though.
